No kindness shown by some

I ordered a lot of books in March and have recieved just one I am prepared to wait as the customer service shown over the many years I have used them has always been excellent Please dont forget we pay such discounts for our books and the people dispatching them are doing so knowing they are losing their jobs Stop gripping they are doing their best

Receipt of order

I placed an order on 27th February and was despairing of receiving it until I phoned the Company a week ago A very pleasant helpful gentleman assured me that all orders would be fulfilled and I would definitely receive it the following week I am very pleased to say that it finally arrived today after 7 weeks The Book People has always been an excellent firm to deal with and even though they are all losing their jobs they are making a big effort to honour all orders I wish every one of these workers the very best of luck in finding new employment - God bless you all

People really need more patience before leaving a bad review

The second of two orders from march has just dispatched and is on its way with hermes The first arrived a day after dispatch back in may Although there was no way to track delivery on their site because they shut it down and no reply to emails this was to be expected with everything going on and losing so much staff Very pleased with prices not bothered by how long its taken since it was not anything urgent that i needed immediately People really need to have more patience during a pandemic with a company currently in the process of shutting down business EDIT just arrived the day after dispatch

Items finally arrived

I ordered many items on the 17th of March I am so happy after waiting many weeks my order finally arrived yesterday Be patient everyone you will eventually get your order I lost hope but received a email yesterday saying my items are on there way

Still hopeful

According to Facebook they have still got many thousands of orders to fulfil and because of lockdown and redundancies it is taking far longer to get these orders out than anticipated Reassuring to see that people are still receiving theirs even after lengthy waits Good luck and thank you to the staff still waiting for my order from the 23rd March

A bit of Kindness

It doesn t seem to be order date that can show any relevance to how orders are dispatched It s the clearance items with really amazing discount that are in the deepest depth of a wonderful long serving Building clearing such a magnitude of stock on a skeleton capacity in a Pandemic is so commendable and I choose to show my appreciation by waiting Let s find some more Kindness the clearance prices we paid for such treasured treats is for a reason

So sad to read of the demise of Book People Similarly to another reviewer I wouldn t have been able provide my children with such an array of fantastic books if it hadn t been for the affordable prices special offers of this company over the years I was a lone parent of 2 young children was living on the breadline The Book People helped to make sure that my children s education didn t suffer They also helped many other children as I donated most of their books to the Primary School library once they d outgrown them I hope all the people involved with the company move on to other jobs experiences have some luck in their lives I just want to say Thank you Gail Kirkland

Understandably delivery took a while

Understandably delivery took a while People don t realize they already laid off staff in 2019 and were then taking loads of orders right up until lockdown With coronavirus it will be difficult to prepare and dispatch orders My order from march 4th arrived on 19th may with everything I ordered and all in great condition nothing was damaged etc
