I placed an order on 4th Dec Half of my order got delivered quickly and the money for full order came out quickly The other half of order got cancelled few days after the order was placed I have yet to receive a refund and sent two emails yet no one bothered to reply Quick take your money but very long time pay it back My order number is 24930588

Order placed 12 2 20 finally arrived today I was told 7 day delivery and money was taken from my account on day I orderedMy issue is if it had stated 4 week delivery I would not have placed an order No answer to my emails and spent nearly 60 minutes waiting for someone to answer a phone Would I order again Absolutely not

Order finally arrived However one item that was in stock when order was placed was cancelled and refund issue Cancellation reason was that the item was out of stock Perhaps the reason for this is that it appears that they are not dealing with orders in the date order they are received as other people reviewing here stated there order had been received and their order date was a week or more after mine

Still awaiting a refund from March Previous dealings with company before administration was great but the administration company seem very reluctant to refund any money owed

I placed an order 24th march Was told upto 7 weeks for delivery 10 weeks later and generic replied from customer service I m still waiting No answer on the phone And no way to request a refund Finally got hold of them on the phone and was told that they still can t tell me when the items will arrive apparentlyall my items have been put to one side for me however they are working in date order and say that within the next few weeks I should receive a dispatched email they are unable to tell me how many a few weeks if she s just said in the next several weeks I find this really really disappointing considering their website at already said it may take up to 7 weeks and I have been waiting 10 and most likely its going to be another month or so on top Very disappointed when she said they re gone in date order and I mentioned that some people who ordered before me have received as I can see Scrubs some of these reviews she just stated a while for a period of last month they just grabbed any orders to fulfill Shoddy work UPDATE after being told on the phone yesterday would still be several weeks until my items were delivered I received an email today saying that my items and out for delivery and should be with me within the next 48 hours I advise anyone who is awaiting parcels from this company to phone them up it looks like he might get prioritised if you do Further update my items finally arrived today there was one item missing which on the invoice I had been charged for but after 10 weeks away for them to come I don t know how long it will be before or if I even get refunded It has taken over 10 weeks for my items to arrive I had actually forgotten what I had ordered The items are good items and the prices were brilliant just a shame it took 10 weeks and there was something missing I ve never had this problem with the book People prior to now

Like many people on here I placed an order on 11th March and have managed to make contact by email it took 5 weeks for a reply and phone I was initially told my order would arrive after 7 weeks so by the end of April which came and went with no delivery I called again and was told that orders were being sent out in the order received which judging by other reviews here is entirely untrue until the warehouse is emptied and closes on 22nd May I was offered a refund but decided to wait another week because there were items for my child s birthday in it and I didn t want to disappoint them after their little brother never received the items ordered for him I rang again and was advised that it is now too late to cancel my order and receive a refund because apparently my order is on a pallet awaiting collection by Hermes However another week has passed and I still have no email about despatch or order I have previously had really positive experiences of Book People so this is very disappointing I feel for their staff because they are losing their jobs and are friendly and helpful but it feels like I have been totally fobbed off I have checked tonight and thankfully a debit card will allow a chargeback if a merchant stops trading so I will be placing a claim should no order be despatched by Friday Hope this information helps others

Placed an order in 29th Feb was told upto 2 weeks at that time I ordered well in advance for a 6 year olds birthday it has now been 6 weeks must have called them at least ten times and emailed never once got a reply to an email each occasion I called was told should be soon books are on a high shelf etc clearing bottom shelf first have been more than patient but now birthday has passed and still no order Had an email 3 days ago from book people saying items dispatched and should recieve tracking within 24hrs but no tracking number to trace it and the courier Hermes say they have not received parcel so looks like been ripped off hopefully can get money back through PayPal I know they have gone bust but a little honesty would have been nice not constant lies about order arriving soon just a warning to anyone who placed an order they may say an order has been dispatched but you won t get anything So an update order did arrive eventually on 14 4 20 A little too late for niece s birthdays all ok except paint unusable on one item but was just glad to finally get it

Awaiting the rest of my order not heard anything The lockdown maybe to the cause for no communication but it seems unfair Have been a satisfied customer before

Order placed on 6th March payment taken straight away but have heard nothing since I have made 2 calls and both times staff have been lovely buy still nothing Emails unanswered Order number 25278577 If anyone from the book people read this please let me know where my little girls toys and books are she was so excited when we placed the order and as a single mum I cannot afford to loose nearly 40 20 of which was my 4year olds birthday money I would love to be able to update this and say we had received the items please someone get in touch UPDATE had totally lost hope of receiving this order when 2 out of 3 boxes arrived last night and a delivery notification for the others One item missing as out if stock Took forever but all good condition and fantastic prices Don t give up hope

I have just had to file a PayPal dispute as I ve been waiting over 10 weeks for my order I put my order through on the morning of 26 02 2020 I haven t heard a thing since To all the people on here saying we re moaning and being impatient I really think you need to understand that there are customers here who have been spoken to rudely lied to and constantly fobbed off There are many who have had wrong items delivered missing items etc with no chance of refund or rectification There are also many who didn t know The Book People had gone into administration because this was hidden very well by them probably the administrators when they were happily sending out promotional emails etc So to sit behind a keyboard and say stop moaning goes to show how ignorant some people are It s all great for those that have received their orders or were lucky enough to get the lovely lady on the phone but there are many of us who have been screwed over by all of this and we have every right to MOAN about it
