Ordered on 1st March and heard nothing for months no response to emails etc so thought I had lost my money Got a dispatch email last night and 2 boxes of books today Most of my order arrived and the email said that I will be refunded for the missing items I haven t seen the money go back in yet but the email was only yesterday Very happy with the items Obviously TBP are struggling and really should at least be keeping people updated on delays but posting to say there is still hope for those still waiting on orders As annoying as it is to wait so long and have no contact from the company thank you to the staff who are still working to get orders out I can t give a good rating but I m giving 3 stars because I did eventually get my goods

3 stars for this order only all other times it would be 5 They re trying their best I think Over 10 weeks since I placed my order and I have just received an e mail saying it s on the way yay I had given up hope after filling in enquiry forms on the website and phoning and getting no reply It must be awful for the workers left it s so sad and they re virtually giving the books away Have been a customer for 20 years or more and have never had cause to complain I am sad to see them go Thank you Book People and God bless update I did receive my books eventually one was out of stock and they refunded me for that they came through

Leaving a review incase it might help other people Ordered on 29th February sent a few emails and couple of phone calls Was assured my order was in the warehouse still Last Friday 1st May I had a knock on the door from Hermes delivery lady Two boxes arrived I had no dispatch email and only half of the shipping paperwork inside The items just arrived two of them were missing and I haven t received a refund For the amount missing I m not chasing it They are completing orders but there is a long wait I was just about to open a dispute with PayPal before they turned up The books are lovely and has definitely kept my children happy during lock down Such a shame they are closing and feel for the staff who are still trying to get the orders out

I haven t given the full 5 stars because I haven t received my order yet BUT I placed my order on 4th March and today 19th May 10 weeks later I finally have a dispatch email I d honestly just assumed I wasn t getting my books and had written the money off Time will tell if I get my books in the next few days Patience is key apparently

Placed an order 6th March and it arrived in full today It appears that they are still fulfilling orders but they are taking around 8 weeks from order date to arrive I have another order outstanding from 23rd March that I assume will be another couple of weeks fingers crossed Edited to add my second order arrived in full today 26th May 9 weeks from order date

Just spoke to a lovely lady on the customer service line as it s been 9 weeks now since I placed my order and she explained that because I have stationery in my order it s taking longer to pack as they ve had to split the warehouse into 4 different areas She said they had a conference call on Monday and they were told all orders will be sent out by 21st May Two of the books I ordered were out of stock She said they are definitely fulfilling all orders so I remain in hope

Placed my order on the 2nd of March I did not realise at the time of placing my order that they had gone into administration After waiting 10 weeks they finally arrived today I had attempted to contact them numerous of times with no luck but they emailed me last week to assure me that my order would be dispatched All my books arrived bar one but they told me I would be refunded the amount of the book It s a long wait and not ideal that they aren t very good at communicating with their customers

Placed an order 24th March and realised it was going to be a long wait for delivery Hopes raised when 10 days ago I received a despatch email Unfortunately according to Hermes they are still expecting the 2 parcels so hope is now fading of any delivery Nevertheless I have had many lovely books from the book people over the years sad to see it s demise Update further to my query regarding the fact that my 2 parcels are still expected by Hermes from 9 June and still no sign 2 and a half weeks later I have received an email from the book people saying they have raised a query with the courier Don t know if this will prove fruitful or not but at least someone is trying to help out Thank you to the book people customer service Last update received email today from tbp who had raised a query with Hermes Hermes say not received so must be lost in transit Refund is being issued I am so disappointed the book people have always been such good value and these were a surprise for my recently qualified teacher daughter Of course like others I have had items go missing with Hermes before but this does seem strange that so many of us have had this issue

I understand that The Book People have had difficulties But having ordered on March 23rd and told delivery was 4 weeks and then told on the phone after 7 weeks that it was soon to be dispatched and everything was available I was disappointed to not receive my order until 9 weeks after ordering I received an email to say it was being sent in 2 parcels 1 arrived with a note to say 5 items were not available whereas the email said they were being sent separately I have been charged for a full order

I have used the Book People for many years and have always been entirely happy with their service and products until now I ordered some items on 2nd March not knowing that they had gone into administration I expected to receive the goods within a few days but having discovered they were in administration and had made many staff redundant learnt I would have to wait seven weeks In the event they did not arrive until 8th May 10 weeks One item costing 5 was missing marked OUT OF STOCK - REFUND As at 19th May I have not received any refund and wonder whether I ever will
