"A promising site but needs work "

The initial start and find was ok but we wanted a backup in case it fell through Couldn t do that Also some people who were waiting to confirm but couldn t because you dont get a choice once you agree to one and you also cannot thank them for their time while you have agreed to someone which makes you feel rude because you lock them out so you cannot respond to their questions

Mixed opinion because trust sale imhoOnce you ask first for money without proving your value to me you lose me as a customer And then emails with discounts as said first prove you are of value

"I have been a member since 2022 but "

I have been a member since 2022 but considering not renewing next year I have five-star feedback i travel with my family yet miss out on so many house sits I know that the cost of living has caused some difficulties for people who may only be able to have limited holidays or they have gotten pickier after Covid 19 restrictions but I feel it s not working for me anymore to apply for housesits in Australia as my applications get declined and they are 100 written tailored to the advertisement and I travel with the family which includes young kids Why put the advertisement as FAMILY FRIENDLY Plus they seem to focus more on the homeowner It s not worth renewing next year

Overall it s much cheaper than using rover or wag since it s a year membership instead of paying per sit It can be tricky finding a sitter initially You need to plan far in advance which is fine if you know your travel dates But it was definitely a struggle when I first started using the app Have had two good sits so far

"Platform has serious gaps in their reviews"

Most of the sits are great The issue is with the platform s reviews policies Unlike most peer-to-peer apps there are no blocks for when to leave reviews If I review first the other party can see my review before they post theirs This led to a bad experience where I left a medium review and the other party 6 weeks later and unfounded left me a terrible review I assume for retribution TrustedHousesitters refused to investigate so I could get a false bad review off my record Besides allowing for this blatant misuse of the platform their lack of controls also leads to low rate of reviews since each party is waiting for the other to go first I see lots of hosts who say they ve been on the site for a long time and yet have few if any reviews I assume it s in part due to this - the fear of retribution for a less that great review I strongly encourage TrustedHousesitters to add common sense rules and product enhancements to make reviews more trustworthyUPDATE I just saw their reply and it s great to know they re finally making these improvements I ll update my rating if applicable after the next sit with the changes in place Looking forward to it UPDATE the new system seems to work as described so I hope experiences like mine won t happen again in the future I increased one star to account for that but I wish they had had these very basic policies in place earlier and avoided my bad experience

"It works until it doesn t"

It s a great concept that has allowed me alternative travel options However I have found the platform to be racially biased and THS staff not to be supportive of the Pet Sitters Also I find that their insurance policies are not smoothly processed They quickly take your money but slowly refund yours back This site is Pro Pet Parent and does not supply unbiased fair setter support It doesn t matter if you have 5 stars and are stellar the Pet Parent is always right Mind you both parties pay to participate on this platform

"Your website is not user friendly"

Your website is not user friendly Messages I send to housesitters are transmitted so abysmally slowly always not just once that I immediately use text phone once I select a sitter The sitters have been EXCELLENT They re the only reason I use your platform

"Website Failure"

While the Housesitters I have had have all been excellent your website is not I recently had medical issues while out of town and desperately needed a Housesitter I could not get my request posted on the website after several tries Luckily I have wonderful neighbors that helped but you let me down

"Was 5 star now three"

I would have given 5 stars not that long ago The concept is great and we have always had wonderful sitters However this new system of limiting the number of applications to 5 is very limiting and much more time consuming Please take it away and you will be back to 5 stars
