"Absolutely shocking service trying to "

Absolutely shocking service trying to contact them for nearly a week not sure who these people are sound like bad people after reading the reviews glad I didn t pay anything don t want a thief in my house they prob hurt my dog the good reviews bet they where paid for them stay away I will b 19 12 23

"No protection for sitters AT ALL"

No protection for sitters AT ALL A dog destroyed my 1500 dental device There s insurance coverage for the home pet owners and insurance if the dog destroyed someone ELSE S stuff while in my care but nothing for me Horrible value for pet sitters Don t waste your time -- it will cost you money too I see they commented back to reach out and resolve my concerns like I didn t spend hours on support with them already as they told me there was nothing they could do

"Hugely disappointed in massive drop in service"

I have been a member for four or five years and up until this year they have been excellent However the business model is no longer fit for purpose The prices have almost doubled the number of applicants has diminished beyond belief despite the fact that I live in what s been voted as the UK s most popular town and now that a sitter has had to cancel due to family illness for 24 hours I can t get beyond the Chatbot s useless deflecting and message that no personnel are currently available at midday during the working week I d like my money back

"Awful Experience "

I had a horrific experience with a sitter I ve used the site for years and had numerous wonderful sitters However- this sitter stole controlled medications from my medicine cabinet took about 2000 in wine and even stole my clothing She left my place disgusting She used personal items such as my face cleaner and hair products that I had to throw out because I wasn t using them after her I had to take all of my dishes out of the cabinets and wash them as some in the cabinets had food caked on them I provided THS with videos photos and the contact information for my dog s daycare because they called me three times in the ten days I was gone with concerns about this sitter But because she denied all of this- because who would expect someone who did this things to tell the truth- she only received a warning And is still able to apply and sit for other homeowners Despite me sending them videos of her wearing my clothing I responded by telling them to permanently delete my account So much for the trusted aspect of the company How could anyone trust their services when the standards are so low And when they will continue to allow someone such as this sitter to continue to sit for others Update THS only responds to make it appear as though they are investigating the review left They were given the info requested and I ve heard nothing from them I think their hope is the reviewer won t respond with the info and the review will be deleted They don t actually care about trying to rectify the wrong done

"Trusted Housesitter s keeps dangerous sitters after conduct violations"

A sitter lied to us about arriving and staying at our home The sitter abandoned the stay and only arrived at our home once we involved Trusted Housesitter s support The incident was reported to Trusted Housesitter s and Ringdoorbell video footage was provided along with date and time stamped texts This evidence showed texts from the sitter lying to us saying they were at the home when they actually showed up 36 hours after the sit started We had evidence of three separate lies with corresponding ring doorbell footage showing the sitter was not at the home for the first 36 hours of the sit The sitter arrived for the initial walk through and key pick and did not return until 36 hours after the agreed upon start of the sit Additionally we provided ring doorbell footage where the sitter shared home security information with a third party in a very public setting just meters from an active street and public sidewalk This security breach could have potentially allowed strangers into our home Trusted Housesitter s has only given this sitter a warning and has not removed the sitter from the site I am fearful for future pet owners whose furry friends may be abandoned without food fresh water and toilet relief for over a day all while being lied to by this sitter via text Trusted Housesitter s offered me 6 months of free service which is appalling when this cost could offset cancelling a dangerous sitter s account instead Additionally trusted Housesitter s support advised me that in the future I need to provide a full list of what a sitter can do and can t do on a sit The fact that a homeowner must write out every dangerous situation that a Housesitter isn t allowed to do puts pets at danger What if a homeowner doesn t explicitly state that a pet should not be fed bleach or thrown off the roof Trusted Housesitter s knowingly keeps untrustworthy and deceptive sitters on their site and does not remove them after dangerous code of conduct violations

"Gone downhill rapidly"

Used to be a great platform but they recently have made changes that severely reduce how easily the platform can be used and how much value you get from it First of all sits are cut off after 5 applications Unless you want to refresh the website every minute for 24 hours you are not going to even see many of the most coveted sits Second they have changed the ability to have overlapping sits While this second change may sound good it is treating us all like children owners often advertise for rough dates which are far longer than the actual sit but if you accept these dates then you are locked out of ones you could actually do It seems that they are chasing money and high membership and anecdotal accounts suggest there are lots more problems with sitters who want a free holiday couch surfing not those who love animals There are better run and better value platforms out there

"Used this platform for around two years "

Used this platform for around two years and were very happy with what we paid for 250 annually to be able to apply for house sits The recent policy change regarding double booking was a deal breaker they are simply lying and saying we did that for the interests of pets while the real reason is forcing couples to purchase an extra membership and shelf another 250 to just use the platform Avoid at all costs and use other alternatives like Nomador

"No Longer Trust these Sitters"

Before I would have absolutely recommended Trusted Housesitters But I just recently had an absolutely horrible experience with you all and would never feel comfortable recommending this service to anyone I know I had someone come and do a sit for me and it has ended up to be an ongoing and complete disappointment in what I ve dealt with with Trusted Housesitters over this ordeal The sitter did not care for my cat This led to him urinating outside of his litter box He has never done this before and now it has been an ongoing behavior That along with being destructive when I leave for even short periods This experience has been life changing for him and me I don t know if or when I ll ever be able to leave him with someone again because of this When I returned I returned to a home that absolutely wreaked of cat urine It soaked down into the couch and carpet and padding that was in my basement In addition all of my vents were broken and I had kitchen items that were left broken or missing A broken mirror in my bedroom and other small things that had been damaged There was a laundry basket full of urine a litter box that had not been cleaned in weeks and was filthy I spent two days cleaning everything and the smell continued from where the urine soaked into the carpet and upholstery Those things are replaceable but the most tragic thing is my cat is forever changed His demeanor with humans has changed and he exhibits problem behavior he never had before I left him with this sitter I expressed my complaint to THS and filed a claim for the most significant damage The only result was a 240 increase in my own homeowners insurance after THS made me file a claim with my homeowners though they knew it would be denied and months of back and forth emails that ended with they would not reimburse me for the damage done I was not expecting that kind of treatment from a company that s name begins with Trust I expected more but all it did was cost me It cost me so much time and money But it s also cost me the trust my cat gained in humans it s cost me my ability to enjoy travel for the foreseeable future it cost me hope that I had that when a company says they ll do something they do it it took a piece of me the company won t ever understand isn t interested in understanding and never cares to attempt to reconcile The experience has cost me so much more than money that I ll never get back I couldn t in good conscience refer any one else knowing they could have a similar experience

"THS can NOT be recommended"

THS keeps on implementing new features which are either a nuisance or right out a horror to people who have been using the platform for years Instead many long known problems of the site are ignored or made worse Newest program upgrade is to not allow overlapping dates for sitters This is simply a means to make more money because often couples split up for a few days and therefore need overlapping days to make sure they have sits without empty days Now these sitters need to pay for two memberships to make it work On THS older and experienced long time members are ignored and everything but appreciated They only want many many new young people to join and pay the membership It s all about money and I can t recommend it anymore

"Completely untrustworthy junk company "

Completely untrustworthy junk company that continues to use dodgy business practices Worst of all it does not honour its clearly stated guarantee to pet owners looking for sitters It then tries to autorenew your membership and has designed its system to make it almost impossible for you to leave Even when you finally get to request closure of your account you are told it will take several days Completely unacceptable behaviour from a junk company I am fully expecting them to continue spamming me too
