"I have a dual membership"

I have a dual membership so can say the ap is more advantageous for the sitters than the homeowners As a homeowner I ve had only 1 2 of the sitters work out well it s possibly that my location is not super popular so it s not attracting the high quality sitters Also I m a landlord and Airbnb host so I know the value of the living quarters I m giving to the sitter and it s not always appreciated I find the older the sitter the better they are for my home and pets I ve done a few sits myself too and always had a lovely experience as a sitter for which I m greatful

"drifting community"

Hosts are beginning to treat people as staff ignoring they are not being paid nor booked it is a mutual agreement Some ask for bills to be paid to keep the house warm others don t even bother training their dog yet others leave the house dirty All categories can be reviewed regarding sitter but not reg host Would like to point out that it would make sense for sitters to rate the tidiness reliability and organizing skills of hosts We have been canceled at the last minute before we have had dirty homes we have had untrained pets we have had rude communicators and we have had people treat us like staff All of which we accept here and there but if they can rate us as if we were their cleaners then we deserve to rate too TH is creating a wrong power imbalance here trying to push an agenda of unpaid labor Keep it up and you will be reported Reestablish the liberal community of friends by giving a house to friends who look after the dogs of the friends - and you will be fine Unpaid labor is illegal in many countries you know

"2 of 3 pet parents canceled"

We arranged 3 sits over 5 weeks The last 2 of canceled on short notice With good reason THS offers cancelation protection for pet parents Maybe they need that option for sitters too Sitter cannot leave a review for a canceled sit so we cannot warn future sitters

"Deterioration in this site"

I ve been a member of this site as both sitter and homeowner for over 6 years and unfortunately the experience of both has deteriorated I can only presume this is because it s become more of a money making business i When you search for a sit now it s much harder to narrow down a specific area I ve noticed many more sits now have low applications which may be as a result of this Over the last year I ve had such poor applications as a homeowner that I ve stopped using it ii They ve brought in a rule that cuts off sitter applications after 4 people have applied This often means that the sit become unavailable before you re even had a chance to see it even if you have it listed as a saved search Why they can t keep it up for at least 24-48 hours I just don t know I m sure this also means a lot of perhaps more suitable sitters are just not seen by homeowners I ve also noted more sits becoming re-available at a later date because sitters have cancelled closer to the sit date which could also be a consequence Very sad to have seen this deterioration in what was once a great initiative in response to the frankly patronising reply from THS below i Yes those many of us who have used the site for many many years KNOW how to use the search criteria We are just feeding back to you that it doesn t work ii As you know there have been many many complaints about the 5 sit cut off which you just haven t listened to and often stifled by moderators on the internal site I just repeat that it s sad such a good resource has been so diminished But the same has happened to other sites too inc Couchsuffering com due to their over monetization and failure to listen to members Just watch Bad Host

"Flaky sitters cancel last-minute"

When the sitters show Trusted House Sitters is amazing I ve met great sitters who are now friends But TWICE now sitters have cancelled last-minute leaving me stressed and in a complete panic THS needs to do a better job of weeding out the flakes who are incapable of honoring a commitment

I am leaving this review in order to try and get a response from Trusted Housesitters as I cannot get a proper answer through any other means We signed up for the premium membership option as it included two free lounge passes that we wanted to use on our upcoming trip as we had a four hour lay over 2 5 weeks you need to give min 72 hours before I wanted to use the passes I put the request in on the chatbot only way I could find and even finding out how to use the pass was difficult in the first place It said someone would get back to me The day before our flight I realised I did not have any confirmation so I chased them - they replied on email asking for more info which I gave immediately After a bit of back and forth they said that they couldn t book the lounge and I should have given 72 hours notice Of course I pointed out that I gave 2 5 weeks notice but they said they couldn t help I then asked for management details or an address to which I could complain and they replied saying someone would be in touch - several days later I have heard nothing I know it is silly to get upset about two lounge passes but it really frustrates me that they sell these passes but then make it impossible to use them I am hoping I can get some reply from them here as nothing else is working I presume if I had a problem with a sitter it would be the same lack of communication

Hi guys Never have I used this app before I m thinking of it for next year but as a traveller I would like to travel more but with three teens and a solo mum it s difficult I ve dogs and cats too Some dya my kid swill be gone nad I will use this method for my animals But first I try it myself I ve seen some negativity about change in app membership This concerns me Pricing nad double booking Has this become about money rather than quality of service If so are there other apps suggested Firstly I would like to use the app for sitting for travel myself thanks

"Company is OK for those of us looking "

Company is OK for those of us looking for a sitter but the website is really quite useless Difficult to access basic function like email inbox and I cannot figure out how to dump the many many people who applied to sit for me who are clearly unsuitable I am not convinced that the company does an adequate job of vetting pet sitters because several of the people who want to sit for me look a little sketchy I m also not happy that they auto renew my membership

"App is good but had problems with it as well"

I am very happy with the app but it was quite hard to get a Housesitt at the first time because I have no reviews They are many applicants and I find the app a little bit slow sometimes and they could be some improvements such as the messages and receiving them in better communication Also I had problem with the app at first because I couldn t edit my profile but I got great support from the team and they really helped me out so all in all I m really happy with the app
