Five Stars for a negative experience
Honestly this 5 star rating comes out of a negative and unpleasant situation Booked hotel rooms at Flamingo in Las Vegas a month ago for a trade show Everything was set but when we arrived at the hotel there was an error with the guest names and as a result we were denied our rooms by Flamingo front-desk despite the fact that the rooms were fully paid for We were turned away and told we had to deal with Vio com Vio com representatives Jona and Abigail assisted us and tirelessly pleaded with the Flamingo reps to escalate the issue to their front-desk mgr but was also turned away saying they needed to speak with Flamingo s wholesale department Well guess what this was on a Saturday night and Flamingo s wholesale department doesn t work on weekends and obviously has no on-call escalation to assist with situations like this They knew it but still had no empathy for guests who now were stranded room less To add insult to injury Flamingo declared us as no shows and cancelled the rooms for the rest of the stay 6 nights Vio com was not at fault as their system clearly showed each room had the correct guest names assigned and this impacted only two out of 4 rooms that were all booked together Why Flamingo could not see that in their system is beyond me So the big issue here is that Flamingo didn t care and left 4 people stranded without rooms and ended up sleeping on the floor of the other rooms as they were too exhausted to go to another hotel Vio com reps did try to book rooms for us at other hotels but everyone was just too exhausted 3 hours at the front-desk and by then it was past midnight and so the system was booking rooms for the next night It was a total mess So while this was a negative experience overall it was the handling by aforementioned vio com reps that got us through it because they stuck through it with us over the course of two days They took ownership and responsibility eventually getting it straightened out got our rooms back and refunded our money for the night lost and for the inconvenience For that they deserve 5 stars
