This is a great way to see another country from the inside I was honored to help the respectful young people to improve their English speaking and listening skills It felt good to be busy from Monday to Friday and then I was able to enjoy the free weekends

Our volunteer experience with IVHQ was excellent I was concerned about getting all of the details together beforehand but they made it easy The local team in Hua Hin were very organized and they were helpful in every way We enjoyed the volunteer work at the schools we helped to restore Next trip will definitely be with IVHQ

As a current medical student in New York I could only afford enough time to spend a week in Costa Rica When I first applied I assumed that by the end of the program I would be ready to head home I had never stayed with a host family abroad or traveled internationally on my own before so along with excitement there was also a bit of worry However those fears disappeared the moment I arrived met the local team my host mother and saw my volunteer site I quickly fell in love with Costa Rica s culture nature and people in just seven days Even though my stay was brief I truly believe I made a positive impact As someone who is passionate about social justice and helping others this program felt like a dream come true and I hope to return one day

I worked in an elephant sanctuary in Chitwan National Park Namaste peace and blessings I am a 65 year old woman and I had a wonderful time I am not in the best shape but i worked hard and it was a big blessing after another They had a week old baby boy elephant named Love His mother is a 10 year old elephant named Sita Normally Asian elephants do not have offspring until 14 years old Sita got out of the compound and met up with a wild male elephant This has been such a rewarding and magical program

I was looking for a program that would give me exposure to the culture I didn t want to spend time figuring out bus schedules or agonizing over which restaurant or hotel to use This program fulfilled my desires For 4 Weeks I participated as a teacher s assistant in English lessons The IVHQ volunteering experience was wonderful the fellow volunteers that I lived among at the IVHQ center were great and the extra side programs Elephant conservation trip trip to water fall with Zip Line and etc were all most satisfactory The Center was a hygienic if a bit Spartan the meals provided were well balanced and tasty And I had time to explore the beautiful Unesco World Heritage City Labang Prabang in Laos The experience was beyond my expectations P S the BeerLao was delightful too

To be part of such a transitional time for a person whose life was changed through a new home is a humbling and exciting experience

From the initial sign up to receiving my certificate at the end I felt very supported and looked after All my queries were answered promptly The team in Jamaica were also superb I had an amazing time and would highly recommend using IVHQ for a fantastic volunteering experience

IVHQ prepared me for my volunteer trips Costa Rica and Peru and it eased my anxiety with their well-prepared programs There is seamless transition between my IVHQ program manager to the local team once I arrived on site and I felt well-supported and prepared They give you a checklist of things you need to know prior to arrival and once you arrive to your destination the local team takes over Communicating with my Program manager was easy and she answered all questions that I had The local team was very hands on and easy to reach as well even after hours The medical programs I volunteered in all gave me a positive experience and I learned so much of the local healthcare system and made friends with wonderful people I highly recommend IVHQ for anyone thinking of volunteering
