I went to the Philippines to volunteer teaching kis in a local school and it was one of the best experiences It was an amazing experience to be a part of and I met some amazing people along the way The team was supportive once I arrived and guie us through everything Would highly recommend going for even one week just to experiecne the local life and culture You ll defitintely make some amazing memories and meet interesting people from all over the world

This was my first time volunteering and going away solo IVHQ made it easy with the checklist and being available for any questions I had I am 59 and not in perfect shape but I forged ahead and completed 2 weeks of volunteering with elephants and Loved it I love that I was challenged emotionally and physically and enjoyed the company of fellow volunteers This was an experience of a lifetime and encourage anyone to Just Do It You won t be sorry

I couldn t recommend this programme more I still cannot find the words to explain just how incredible this experience was I gained everything and more in the 2 months I spent in Fiji The love and gratitude that was felt everyday I will carry through with me into my adult life I would do this again in a heartbeat and find myself missing it more and more as time passes Vinaka

All of the staff was very friendly and professional They did a great job making sure you understood everything before leaving for the task They fed us well and it was delicious I was not expecting that at all Nice surprise I volunteered for one week I enjoyed it so much that I am now signing up for a two week trip this year

Our group had a fantastic experience in Costa Rica We conducted health assessments in various settings throughout the week The company did a great job keeping us informed of the specifics of our volunteer visits transportation and added tourist activities We didn t have to worry about a thing We thoroughly enjoyed the families we stayed with as they offered a comforting environment with great food I highly recommend this experience

I really enjoyed my 2 weeks of teaching English volunteering in Thailand I have a huge smile whenever I think back at the time I spent there The local team were fabulous They helped settle us into our roles guided us and helped whenever needed They also helped facilitate any trips that we wanted to take during our spare time I ve never taught to school children and so on my first day I had some nerves As we got off our transport the children gave us such an amazing welcome It wiped away the nerves instantly The children were always happy to see the volunteers arrive at their schools Cheering at us and beaming with huge smiles There s some pre-planning of classes and lots of improvisation The local team help on both fronts It was satisfying making micro contributions to the children s English education The contributions accumulate over the different volunteers that come throughout the year Volunteering isn t just for the young I m in my mid-fifties The more senior members have life skills knowledge and experience that can be of benefit I would have stayed longer if I had more time to spare I returned a few weeks ago and am planning my next trip in 2026 I can t wait

IVHQ always stays closely I Touch with its volunteers until they arrive in the country they will be volunteering in At the IVHQ in Tobago the home team was friendly helpful and open to helping if needed We who were working with Tabatha s house for IVHQ set up a library system and input all the books whose ISBN s were able to be input through scanning We also started inputting manually We organize the books on shelves into categories such as children s religious adult teens and such Tabatha s House provides support to women needing to leave abusive situations It has clothing available and is planning to set up a shop It has need for grant writers and it provides training to women so they can achieve independence Women come in for counseling there is a food pantry and all support is worthwhile and of value Our IVHQ residence was very comfortable and the location allowed us to shop for food extras and water

I worked on the animal care project in Thailand Chiang Rai and I absolutely loved it It was a great experience and a great way to experience the real Thai culture that you don t see on Instagram It s left me with such a full heart the animals there are all amazing and I d love to take them home The staff are so friendly and although don t speak amazing English are doing so well We actually even went back to one of their villages and joined in with Christmas carolling and had dinner with them it was an unreal experience IVHQ did a great job of getting everything organised and we felt at ease during the whole booking and planning stage A very well organised trip I had the best time and would love to do it all over again I would highly recommend 10 10

It was a phenomenal experience that I got to run into so many new things that I may have not been able to enjoy if I were alone without my coordinator and the local team The local team and the volunteers who were already there helped me understand the local culture and the city more deeply and fast I interacted with many locals walked where they walked ate what they ate rode what they rode I even enjoyed nature a lot such as the clear blue ocean and the palm trees which cannot be found where I am from Meeting new people and adjusting to a new country as a volunteer was a rare experience that I will never forget I was even able to feel like I belong to the local culture instead of a visitor or a traveler
