I had this service in 2022
I had this service in 2022 however I wanted to change in 2023 In the fine print you are required to stay 2 years I contacted them but was not able to cancel so for 1 year I paid for vision insurance I did not want Be careful with this provider

Very hard to get to talk to someone
Very hard to get to talk to someone Forget about leaving a callback number because they will never call you back When I did finally get a live person on the phone she said she would transfer me to the right person to fix my login error but after a few minutes it just hangs up This happened to me twice Too bad I don t have any other option I m sure that if I were to owe them anything they would contact me ASAP But I ll just do the same thing to them

Do not sign up with these crooks
VSP used to be good Most horrible experience ever When i signed up online their site glitched and messed up my start date and charged me the wrong amount So i called in and a rep said she would cancel that account and enter a new account and credit the first charge in 3-5 days I was charged for 3 months up front Now it is over 2 weeks later and no credit yet When i call in to the automated AI bot the bot can not even find an account for me despite me paying VSP for 3 months up front Run fast from this corrupt insurance I am getting ready to put a dispute in to my corrupt credit card company which is just as bad as VSP

I m told I do not have a policy with this company by customer service after being switched to a long list of service personnel But they continue to charge my card the premium every month Do not use VSP

Difficult website and average services prices
There is not a lot to like about VSP I have mostly used their web site to manage my employer-provided vision insurance but the site is horribly difficult to navigate and find what you need Price wise it seems just average or even on the higher end I have submitted only one insurance claim for contact lenses via the web site and got a confirmation email that it was received However I had not heard any update on the claim so I went back and after a long time looking for my past claims on the unorganized website I finally found the buried status of my claim was call customer service Thanks VSP that would have been great to know and what a hassle Still working out what the issue is with the claim

This company takes 3 minutes to sell
This company takes 3 minutes to sell you a policy but endless hoops to cancel They automatically renew your policy without your permission They sent me a sales e-mail to act quickly to get coverage by March 1 When I tried to confirm by e-mail that I did not want coverage they told me to call to cancel They gave me the wrong number When I called to cancel they told me I had to call in February After more than an hour and talking to 4 people I finally got someone to say they would cancel the policy but I still have doubts as to whether or not this will happen Just don t

Download and print this form and simply mail it in for reimbursement In 2023 Oh and yes I know you have a web form but your website is impossible to log into can t reset password despite multiple attempts over multiple weeks You deserve to go out of business

Do not do their rebate
This company has overseas reps who s logic is non existent I submitted my rebate on 4 12 uploaded form and receipt got an email confirming with a tracking number and when I went to check lo and behold I was nowhere to be found YET THEY SENT ME A CONFIRMATION EMAIL WITH A TRACKING NUMBER I had to call 2 times second time asking fir a supervisor and the man that came on was dumber than a box of rocks THIS IS WHY I NORMALLY NEVER DO REBATES I am livid and I pick up my glasses Saturday Next year I will not be opting for vision If they are still tye only choice I m sick to my stomach

Call before using using benefits out of network
Reviewed my benefits page before deciding to use my benefits on either glasses or contacts and made sure I understood my allotment Bought contacts and put in a reimbursement and only got half returned When I called I was told buying contacts OOO would mean only partial reimbursement Does my benefits page say this Nope Literally could have ordered from anyone but because my page did t have any stipulations for contacts benefits I chose the same company I was purchasing my glasses from out of pocket Honestly paying OOP for your exam vs this really makes not much difference

Not only is their so called coverage not accepted or equal to the stores regular discount senior discount BUT when you try to call and cancel they won t let you keep claiming you signed some contract You see MOST people try to cancel and they would have no business if they did not trick you
