Subject Outstanding Repairs This is a copy of an email i sent to my landlord the Guinness Trust regarding repairs Dear Madam Once again i have no option but to write to you regarding and outstanding repair to the boundary fence at the bottom of our garden The concrete post which supports the fence and the back gate has broken and the fence is in danger of falling out on to the public footpath should we get any high winds Also as i am registered disabled and have to use a mobility scooter to get around ican no longer use the gate to get my scooters out so i am confined to the house Waites Contractor were to attend on Friday the 16 11 18however they phoned me on Friday morning to cancel the appointment there excuse was that the van had broken down and reschedule it for Friday the 23rd 11 between 1and5pm and as they will have no idea as to what materials they will require to complete the works i cant see them being able to do the works when they arrive as it will not be long before it is dark Once again they cancelled and reschedule for friday the 30 11to complete the work yet again i received a phone call ar 8am on the 30 11 to cancel the work their excuse being that one of there men allocated the job had called in sick They now have booked in the work for Thursday the 6th of December when they will send two men to complete the work This is totally unacceptable and as a result of this i will be whitholding my rent until the works have been completed i will also be getting in touch with our local newspapers and informing them of the situation we are being left in Also further to my last email to regarding the locking system to our french doors reported on the 4 09 18 we have had at least 5 visits to repair the doors and we still cannot lock the doors Both my wife and i are over 70 years of age and we do not have the power to be able to pull on the doors so we can turn the key to lock them as the locking pins are not located in the receivers also they have cut off one of the locking pins in order that the door s will lock this has not solved the problem I feel that the service we are receiving from Waites is far below the Guinness Trust standards when i explained to them about being unable to use my mobility scooter due to the lack of access they seemed unconcerned Would you please look into this and let me know what is the outcome I received an email to inform me that two men would be arriving on Friday the 7th December to complete the work they arrived as arranged and repaired the back gate and fence However when it comes to the French doors they made a complete bodge of it as the doors will not close into the receivers and will not lock They were using a crowbar to try and adjust the doors the mind boggles at this it is no wonder that doors now won t close Again we are left in an unsecured home I cannot understand why my landlord will not get a grip of Wates and inform them that there work is unacceptable and unless they up their standards they will removed them from there list of approved contractors Yours sincerelyL Callaghan Sent from Samsung Mobile

Wates were contracted by Hackney Council for renovations at Lea View House They left scaffolding up for far too long left broken windows and didn t fulfil a promise to paint the community hall The entire experience was overwhelmingly negative very hard to get any updates from them - but they were very demanding whenever they decided they wanted to proceed with any work

I want my window fix as it s still got the board up from last year and its getting cold at nights now with no bedroom window

Wates submitted one day to the Agency when I worked two on the last week Site Manager was horrible and so was her manners but her replacement Tom Langley Grammar School project was a legend Wates you keep the money looks like you need it more

City Council has partnered up with Wates I think wates needs to hire professionals who knows how to do a clean job I had a Wates person come to my house to fix the toilet flush which was a 10 minute job what a mess he dropped water all over the floor and made a big flood He didn t even clean it he left it for us to clean the whole floor very unprofessional I still don t understand how water went on to the floor there was no leak and no pipe bust I expected him to do a clean dry job not flooding the toilet floor Very disappointed Wates Group needs to hire professionals or at least train their people on how to do a complete clean job and not make a mess

Need to be a bit more considerate for staff who don t live local to Enfield When I applied for a role with them it was based in their office in NW10 which is local to me Due to a leak in that office the staff was told at short notice that they will be relocating to Enfield which is a two hour trip from where I live Despite the distance they expect you to be at the Enfield office at 8 am this is fine when if you live local to Enfield but when you live two hours away and have rely on 3 buses to get there and having to leave at the crack of down it is not always guarantee that you will get to Enfield by 8 am Getting there by train is not is not straight forward either

Wates hire cowboys that produce dodgy workmanship and patch up mistakes rather than correct them Every sink in my home leaked water door hinges packed out with cardboard rain water leaking through a air vent and running down my living room wall I had to hire a plumber to remove a radiator in my kitchen because it was blocking the space for the washing machine to go into The back door to my home wasn t hung correctly hinges packed out with floor packers and excessive silicone There is a gap in the door compromising the heat in an already cold room and compromising the security I called someone private to look at who said that the doorframe was not fitted properly hence the door doesn t hang right the frame would need to be corrected for the door to be fitted right Wates won t take responsibility and ignore my emails

Please as person who thinks Wates is a good career move don t do it I have still been waiting for my overdue wages you simply can t get hold of anyone in HR then they put you on hold for as bout 50 minutes then put the phone down a complete horrible stress full time please avoid these people

Please any one thinking of working for this company or employing them stay away I am a very unfortunate person that worked for them this vile firm are still not wanting to pay the the overtime I m owed I feal sick with stress please stay away from this company

Although the first Plumber was a friendly and polite person but I cannot believe how badly the job was done and the state my bathroom and toilet was left in Both toilets were not working They initially came and then said they did not have the purchase card to buy the parts Another appointment was made for the next week they came and supposedly fix both toiletsAfter they left I found puddles of water everywhere and the mess he left was obnoxious and he did not secure the toilets back to the wall and actually put the handle on straight up instead of in the normal position both so I was literally fuming I have been waiting for them today and another plumbr came He seem nice as well and could not understan why the first one left the mess he did However This plumber has now done the job with the handles corrected and is now completed No more flood on the floor
