A week ago I read a fairly large advert in the Yorkshire Post and as with most adverts which seem too good to be true I checked it out and decided that I was not sufficiently confident to take up the offer It was for a garden centre business which seemed to offer the earth or superior quality compost but the reviews on the company did not fill me with confidence I emailed the Yorkshire Post to ask them whether in fact they check out the standing of their advertisers or merely take the money and run the ad No reply or acknowledgement so I have to assume that the paper just accept the adverts and blow to their readersPete Wright

Slip Sliding Away
The best thing about the good old Yorkshire Post is the crossword Shame it s gone so far downhill I like to have a newspaper in my hand not be bombarded by adverts that get in the way of content online Obviously thats where they want you to subscribe to Inappropriate ads at that quite often appear in the middle of a serious news item and some that definately belong in the dubious bin I couldn t even find the prices for the printed YP weekend editions online
