Decent but expensive

I completed my week with 5DAY in early April in St Helens and just took my practical yesterday and passed first time with 2 minors My instructor James was top and I would recommend him to anyone he also squeezed me in for a private lesson the week before my test which was really helpful to ensure familiarity with the car I was completing my test in As for 5DAY as a whole I m not entirely sure I would recommend it it s pretty expensive for what you get and there are many more competitively priced fast pass courses around I know this is justified by it being an all inclusive course where you re taught theory etc however the mark up simply isn t worth it when a big chunk of the theory is doing practice tests on an app anyone can purchase for 4 99 Given the high likelihood of there being a decent wait between finishing the course and doing your test I d also say being able to drive a family members car or taking additional private lessons after the course would be massively beneficial without going out in my mums car a few times a week after doing the course I would not have been test ready It got me the result I wanted though and I went from almost zero experience to passing in under 2 months

Great practical teaching theory part pointless clunky systems

Doing my course with 5day was good overall My instructor John was great very assiduous and worked within the tight time frame to get me from beginners to pass level in the 5 days However it was a lot of hard work and the split option with the theory training in the morning and driving in the afternoon was extra tiring To be honest unless you need the motivation you could do the theory stuff on the apps in your own time and just go in for the practical lessons This might have made it less knackering The practical lessons were really good but there s not really time for a more patient approach This is not the instructor s fault but a structural thing with learning a whole new skill in just 5 days There s a lot of pressure to build skills quickly and move on whereas I needed more time Works for some and not others I think I also wouldn t rate the test booking approach despite the narrative of searching the system for cancellations this is done manually rather than using an automatic booking system which may have been more intuitive I still had to wait 6 months until after my course and pay for an additional 7 5 hours of lessons to refresh skills The test booking system is also quite inflexible instead of calling and offering a date and time bearing in mind this was 5-6 months after the course finished they simply book you a spot and if you re unavailable you have to cancel and pay another 25 to rebook You can send a list of dates times you re not available but again if you ve got lots on this is a pretty clunky way to do things Seems a bit of a money grab Despite the structural issues with 5day the instruction was amazing and my instructor did all that he could to prepare me for the test making me feel relaxed and confident on the day And it worked I passed first time

The lads at 5day at Helens are absolutely amazing I m dyslexic and strugged with the theory but Chris made it easy and fun to understand and I passed it first time and my instructor Graham was a god send and I m pleased to say I have passed my test huge thankyou to the lads at 5day couldn t of done it without you

I found the instructor Shabana Majid

I found the instructor Shabana Majid who my daughter had during her course in Leeds to be a wonderful instructor My daughter came on loads during her lessons and found her very pleasant and easy I would definitely personally recommend her However there were other aspects of the 5day course that weren t as pleasing The customer service team at 5day I found to be quite rude and unhelpful at times I find that this is the main aspect of 5day that is letting them down However the instructor and theory aspects of the course really benefitted my daughter resulting in her passing first time

Peterborough course

I did the course at the Peterborough Centre and my instructor was Tim Brilliant teaching skills and made the whole experience very calm The PowerPoint on Theory was helpful and it was a very efficient and informative course Although I do believe the practical should be take off the price given independently it could have been 500 cheaper Regardless it was still worth the money and I always felt safe in the car

5Day Intensive Course- NorwichDo not expect to be able to get your license at the end of this 5Day course It is intense draining and tiring But it is also massively rewarding My instructor at the Norwich branch was Steve Day and he was great Do what he says and you will be okay Do not take this course if you feel like you can t handle it

Highly recommend the course

Definitely an intense course but very satisfied with the results Might not be your best option if you have a nervous disposition Bob Merridale is a fantastic instructor and with him I have gone from never driven to test ready in 5 days The theory section is also good presentations are concise and cover relevant content Many thanks to Greg for helping me with that

Don t recommend 5 day as had to wait 5

Don t recommend 5 day as had to wait 5 months for my test after the course they where unorganised and had me waiting outside a hour and half early and no one was inside door was locked and no one would answer the phone when I called to find out however the instructor I had raf was excellent wish I had just booked lessons with him rather than the corse 100 would recommend the instructor passed first time with him

5 day experience

If I could give Mark personally a rating I d give him a 50 5 my 5 day course came in the middle of covid I had done a couple of lessons previously but by the end of my course still needed some driving lessons not 100 that my instructor was the best but he wasn t awful and I can take a while to pick things up I rushed to do my first test between the lock down break as I knew the second one was coming I failed and consequently 5day couldn t get me a test before my theory ran out after redoing my theory mark worked hard putting in hours with me after work to make sure I got to where I needed to be to pass he was absolutely amazing and deserves a bonus Which led to me passing my second attempt on the 1st of November
