The worst experience of my life
The worst experience of my life I was in the waiting room getting ready for my appointment with my doctor and overheard a VERY loud altercation between an obvious higher up and my nurse I love my nurse She literally abused her in front of many patients and all of us in the waiting room were appalled The nurse was obviously embarrassed I had someone else call me back and I asked who was yelling at the nurse at the front desk and she told me her name was Patricia Wallace and they were very used to the treatment It has been a while since this happened but I never knew how to really complain other than to the doctor who also agreed with me at the inhumane treatment of her staff My doctor had said she would do something about it but I ve seen her there again Please don t keep this type of person on your staff This was so very unprofessional If it wasn t for my doctor and the care I receive I would have left Plus I left a formal complaint in the box labeled suggestions explained my experience at my doctors suggestion with my name and number and was never contacted I updated my doctor with this info and she was not happy

If there was a way not to put any stars that would be my choice Not because of the Doctor but because of Dr Mercado s receptionist front staff I only went to see Dr Mercado a couple of times and the couple of times I couldn t understand how if you as a receptionist it is your job to make us the patients understand any questions with registration appts referrals I shouldn t feel like I m bothering you and leave the office confused I tried calling plenty of times and no answer While waiting i overheard I was the not the only one with that issue While waiting to be seen i overheard how the receptionist answer the patient regarding the phone issue No need to answer the way she did I can write her name here but I m sure it won t be hard to realize who is these 2 employees I m writing about I can go on and on about this but it will take up half of day to continue and there is no need for me to have to write complaints about 2 employees when it is their job to help me Please amita lets do better on training I m sure there are half of us patients who walked into that office have a lot to say but only because some of us cant use a computer we do not speak up

This place is terrible
This place is terrible I set up an appointment and had to wait over an hour past my appointment time They claimed to be short staffed but I was seeing many people come and go Not to mention they were giving some patients preferential treatment I seen a lot of people go in but never came back out When I asked how long was the wait they told me no rooms were available They also wanted me to wait in my car so I wouldn t see them take other patients ahead of me I will never go back to this place They don t care enough about the patient needs

I have no complaints about the hospital Unfortunately Amita Health has the WORST billing service on the planet I have two BCBS plans and they have yet to bill correctly yet My secondary ALWAYS denies claim because it is not billed with primary EOB which is customary practice I attempt to call them nobody answers When I choose to get call back I have yet to get one in 7 months When I emailed a cease and desist letter with instructions to rebill insurance properly and to not turn me over to collections my bill should be covered 100 they sent form email states will be in contact with me soon That was 3 weeks ago and the only thing I got was a bill from a collection agency If someone from Amita Health St Mary s would contact me 815-375-5202 May end up in court since my cease and desist letter was ignored I sure hate to change my doctor just because her billing service sucks so bad PS I am a health care professional

Watch out for Amita imaging places in PCP offices
I went to see my In network PCP who is great he asked I get xrays The imaging dept there is ran by Amita They took xrays of my ankle and they were in network also 3 xrays and they want 1100 after discounts I had to get these to my orthopedic so I asked for a disc They gave me a disc and there was nothing on it So my orthopedic took xrays in network also and the charge was 54 They are price gouging like crazy I work in the health insurance industry and sell medical insurance for a major carrier and have never seen anything like this Not to mention I had an MRI done in network and it was 420 No way xrays should be 2 5 times the cost of an MRI

I have never in my life experienced a worse call center scheduling situation in my life You can NEVER get in touch with your doctor Half the time their phone are not working You wait on hold for 20 mins and then just get hung up on and have to start over I am seriously considering changing my primary just so I don t have to deal with this BS

Not thorough Not impressed at all
We took our son in to get tested for ASD They had the OT and Speech Therapist in the same room at the same time firing off questions to my husband and I while trying to get our son to perform tasks to get an assessment The room was stark of toys or things to keep our son s attention or interest so he just wanted to leave the entire time We were then taken to a sterile doctor s room where we were then told by an observer doctor to play with our child the way we do at home Again there were no toys or anything for my son to play with or interact with We were then given his diagnosis and were told to Take it with a grain of salt All in all we were first told the observation would take 3 hours and we were only in the office with the OT Speech Therapist and actual doctor for a grand total of 80 minutes You cannot get a proper assessment of ASD in 80 minutes It s just not done and we were left with more questions than answers Not thorough at all and definitely not impressed If you have a child you think is on the spectrum do NOT go to AMITA health go to an ASD clinic for a REAL assessment of your child

I had a procedure to remove a benign tumor on my hand and it grew back which can sometimes happen The real problem is you can t get them to answer the phone to ask questions or schedule an appointment Not a good organization from what I can tell and am amazed they are still in business with this level of service This is symptomatic of the most expensive health care industry in the world that tolerates this level of service

Horrible Billing Issues
I have been dealing with the billing dept for months on a claim that has been paid They lie and say they called but rarely return calls I finally got ahold of someone and she claimed they never received my emails yet I received confirmation that they were received She asked that I forward the confirmation and I did She then asked what email address I sent them to when it was clearly in the chain of emails that I sent to her I don t think these employees are very bright and they re certainly unmotivated I never had these problems with Lutheran General Hospital Pitiful

Extremely bad experience so far
Extremely bad experience so far I am in the ER in Hinsdale as I type My girlfriend is 9 week pregnant with severe abdomenal pain We are 2aitung for 1 hour and 40 minutes already Nobody can tell us when someone will see her She is in pain shakes on the couch The lady on registration speaks is just rude answering i don t know to all our questions She promised to bring us pain release medication and she forgot No comparison of any kind Kids are screaming in pain next to us the ladies are laughing behind the desk Total nightmare Can t believe my girlfriend pays such a expensive insurance and is treated like that I would think twice before choosing this hospital is the ER is like that
