Mis sold insurance

In April 2024 our cooker burner was repaired before annual insurance started and the engineer also recommended to replace a small circular metal peace on top of another burner to improve the flame although there is nothing wrong with it Engineer told us that you can request for the piece free of charge when insurance cover starts But recently i requested for the piece the office staff and also insurance staff stated that we have to pay for the whole kit which is not necessary and insurance doesn t cover this I feel very disappointed I have been missold and I won t renew insurance next year

No Communication with me

Don t converse with manufacturer of appliance for 2 days telling you to do silly checks when it s packed up then when you ask to enquire about repair date tell you to sit waiting patiently cannot be bothered Repeatedly been TOLD We have 21 days legally to repair appliance been left to chase engineer subcontractors and manufacturer and NOTHING it s day 19 now at laundrette EVERY day having to find over 25

I booked an engineer for 29th August

I booked an engineer for 29th August but they did not confirm it until the same day by which time I was out and he arrived When I explained the proble with them they said the would book me another visit soon This turned out to be 2 weeks 3 days Today the day he should be here I get a phone call to say he won t be here as he s off sick and they can arrange another visit for the 27th another 2 weeks I will not renew my policy

Watch out for auto renewal

I rang twice to ask them not to auto-renew a policy for a TV I no longer own They assured me the policy would not be renewed When the money was taken from my account anyway they claimed they d emailed me beforehand they hadn t and refused to give me a full refund However in fairness having posted this review the company responded to my complaint and issued a full refund

When requested assistance to repair

When requested assistance to repair failed toilet flush button I was refused assistance as its not a emergency I m expected by your assessor to use the downstairs toilet I use the toilet 2 3 times a night I m disabled with mobility issues it would have been a recipe for disaster possible fall downstairs I was not informed that this policy was for emergency only when I took it out 2yrs ago I will not be renewing the policy and will go back to British gas There are hidden costs with big warranties so beware at least with British gas the price costs are up front

Be careful

I m guessing a fair number of the reviews on here are fake The company packages the sale of insurance with Go Assist in a suropticious way puts you on a monthly plan then makes it difficult to cancel you can only cancel in the 11th month It cost 40 to get out of this arrangement On a more positive note when customer services called me back you can t talk to them directly the guy was polite and fairly straight forward But if you re using GoAssist be very careful what you re signing up for

I think it s cancelled

This was a different experience to the one I had when taking out a warranty I replaced the original fridge and took out the manufacturer 5 year warranty so I wanted to cancel bigwarranties It took several minutes on the phone to make it clear that I just wanted to cancel my renewal the response to this was a gruff reply and being cut off So I assume that it s been cancelled

BE VERY CAREFUL

Do not trust these people you must read the small print They state on the front page in Bold that you are covered for 500 and in small print they they will only cover you for the depreciated amount at something like 20 a year so anything over 4 years old is worth almost nothing and they won t fix it I m also told that there MD Richard Waters doesn t have contact details I paid close to 600 for one year s cover made a claim that they refused to fix and wouldn t refund me anything because I made a claim that they would not fix

3 different engineers have been out to

3 different engineers have been out to replace the door on my tumble dryer Wrong door wrong catch and still might have to replace the machine I m thinking of cancelling my policy

Paid insurance yearly and now boiler faulty I can t get service Going through hoops to get service Asking for proof of boiler service when it s your company that does it Is that stupid or incompetence Meanwhile winter and no heating
