I have always used Centauro Rent a Car and have always found them to be helpful and reliable However on April 23rd I cancelled my booking with them for June due to the coronavirus and have not received my refund Booking Ref 200130-968907 I have emailed them with no reply I hope this is just an oversight as I have had many positive experiences with them

Pickup was a nightmare the bringing back was great and the car super
Unfortunateley I had to wait for more than 30 Minute for the shuttle But when I finally arrived at the office they let me wait again even 1 person was free The person was very unfriendly and talking on the phone 1 20 until I had the car from the meeting point The funny thing was when I brought back the car the same person was super friendly And giving back the car and transfer to the airport about 35 Minutes The car was a dream I loved the Peugeot 108 and it was super clean

Excellent price-quality but watch out
Excellent price-quality The downside is that when they deliver the car to us they don t itemize the damage to the car to the detail and when we return it they ask us if we did the damage It is an embarrassing and avoidable situation The client should examine the whole car with flashlights take pictures and write in the contract the damages that were already in the car in order to avoid problems

I rent the car for seven days Customer service in Barcelona was fine Everything smooth and took approximately 15 mins to sign all docs etc I booked KIA XCEED PHEV or similar - that was my choice bcos in my hotel I had the option to charged car Unfortunately they had only 2 hybrids Toyota Corolla Sport Wagon - large long combi dear centauro this isn t hatchback From the beginning I was a little bit upset bcos car is BIG and is not PHEV The most upsetting was the car then they were severe scratched and damaged both of them I know rental cars are not in the perfection conditions but this two were terrible I didn t have any other options to change and I accepted rental Now when I come back from me holidays I realised then this cars are cheaper in price then my originallly booked Thanks god I had PREMIUM INSURANCE

Check the car and fuel thoroughly and take pictures
Upon pick up at Madrid Airport I was told the car was full of fuel and the warning about needing a service and oil change could be ignored The staff could t advise on the car s controls because we have so many new cars I don t know how all the controls work 50km after leaving the depot the oil warning light came on and I have to put oil in the car then when I received the email with the car details it said the car was full of fuel however we had taken a photo of the fuel gauge when we picked it up showing less than one third full It is clear this car had not had any of the basic checks before being rented out the fuel level was not recorded and the car not serviced in any way just cleaned on the inside Returning the car Delia was helpful and apologetic about the fuel and oil situation

Always happy to use Centauro but on
Always happy to use Centauro but on this occasion the car had a faulty battery which let me down two or three times the first time result by the callout I then bought a battery charging machine which I will leave in Spain and Case it ever happens again will certainly use Centauro in the future as I think this was just unfortunate

HiThought it was a good rental until the day after I arrive home and boom a charge on my card for an alloy wheel No email no phone call just some obscure documents in a portal account I didn t have and had to sign up to Finally found the invoice Just simply a 480 charge for an alloy wheel I m pretty sure all wheels were present when I dropped this car off and made a video to prove Perhaps it was for a slight scuff on one of the alloys which was present on collection and again videoed and photographed for proof fully date stamped Perhaps the collection rep didn t record the damage despite me insisting he printed off the records which I didn t receive via email as promised at the airport desk All damage was subsequently marked and handed back to him in the printout he produced at my insistence Absolutely all above board I was polite and courteous at all times however didn t take their extra insurance at extra cost so therefore was extra vigilant in making records meticulously Now I ve followed your procedure and await your response No point in providing a link below and a cut and paste response It s over to you You ve stolen 480 from my card and I d like it refunded please Not in 2 weeks or 2 months within hours please Obviously I ll be disputing the charge with my credit card company and it will be refunded I d obvioisly prefer it to be resolved before I have to stsrt printing paperwork and going to that trouble You have the evidence sent to deal with quickly You seem to respond here much faster than to your customer service response so do the right thing and refund my money ER23555586 Ticket 811319327 Come on guys sort this It s very shoddy You asked for a review in an email you had the cheek to send me with happy faces saying you d processed all refunds and the rental was over etc So here you go It s a bad review I m afraid under the circumstances Update 1 Thanks for your reply I see you ve used the cut and paste you usually do As I stated however I ve already contacted you opened a ticket provided everything you need and haven t received a reply hence this review The ref and ticket number was is posted above for you It s nice and easy You took my money next day you can refund it just as easy you re chosing not to Still hoping for and amicable resolution Update 2 Refund received after company accepting my evidence It took far too long to process after promise of refund and I have to thank my online broker Enjoytravel for their assistance in pushing them for it Altogether an unpleasant experience that didn t have to be that way I have to say that the Centruro customer service team on the phone were amicable and accepted evidence pretty quickly but refund took 3 weeks I ve updated rating accordingly

Centauro - Why this policy change
I used Centauro many times in the past 10 years out of Murcia airport Always been very satisfied with the cars the service and the prices The latter has changed When you look for a car say 3 months in advance they ask e g 900 euro s A month later that might be 700 euro s and if you are lucky it may go down to 450 euro In some cases prices may go up again or there may be no cars available anymore Note that I only rent in the low season Also in the past you could choose out of three different contracts from low coverage to full coverage Today there is only premium i e the most expensive formula I tried again today and again a different but still high price vs 2 weeks ago I gave up on Centauro and booked with a competitor Finally I noticed that Centauro has far less cars in their car park vs a few years ago Renting out less cars at high price vs many cars at lower price and still make more money Has Centauro changed its business model
