Beware if you are using Booking com

We are disappointed that our reservation through Booking com doesn t match the total amount we paied for the rent This is due to 2 surcharges different location drop off and premium station that we do know they exist but we tought were already in the price payed through Booking com These two surcharges almost doubled the final fare we payed

Corporate site lacking price gouging

Corporate site lacking - price gouging eg kings cross 3x price 10 days 320 vs 980 further away from end of eurostar London uk - impossible to speak to right people eg put me through to agency please have to pass by corporate common number which cuts you off after 20 minutes on holdFaster just driving there if you can - EVs available on website physically but cannot rent Used as a loss leader on website - Result stuck in railway bus service mess due to this wasting my time Not happy with corporate level mess

The car itself was excellent but on

The car itself was excellent but on pick up the wipers were dangerously past their use by date and fuel was not topped up in fact extremely low These issues were both eventually rectified but required me to return to pick up location and a call to head office after staff member refused to acknowledge the fuel issue before the fuel was eventually credited I will add that the lady to whom I returned the vehicle was extremely pleasant professional and helpful

Bad experience on the car

I have rented and upgraded my car to Mercedes GLE400D in my UK trip for 6 days Unfortunately the car conditions are not up to my expectation The wiper fluid is not enough the tyre pressure is low I pumped 3 times during my 6 days trip passenger air bag warning steering vibration when speed at 80 mph and above and wiper is noisy Quite disappointed for the luxury car that I rented

Missing part that we never had

Went on a trip with family went to return car at another airport and they said there s a missing shelf in the back that was NEVER there And they love guilt tripping holding money for what we never had when we got the vehicle

Eventually came around

Edit After a month of persistent communication engaging both my credit card issuer and third party booking I was eventually refunded the difference in cost by Europcar Having rented cars in many countries over the span of twenty years I can honestly say this was the worst experience I ve faced I suppose that s lucky in a way since ultimately I did drive away with a vehicle Unfortunately it was not the vehicle I had reserved nor was the price of my reservation honored 50 more expensive Through a system error regarding one way bookings my reservation needed to be changed on the spot by the check out staff This impacted the entire original pricing I was told that things would be sorted out upon my return or at worst by the customer service department after billing Neither of these promises came true After weeks of waiting for a response from customer service I am told that despite their system issue with the one way rental that s just the way things are The customer is left footing the bill for a failures by the rental company Prospective renters beware I do not recommend Europcar

Please open on Sundays too

Pros friendly and helpful staff prices are ok nice and clean carsCons picking up takes a while as there s a lot of adminMy main complaint is that shop opening times are very limited on weekends making renting a car for a single weekend day almost impossible This makes it expensive as I m forced to book for multiple days

Great pick up poor drop-off really expensive refuelling cost

Great pick up with Rosa at Valencia airport poor drop off experience at Madrid airport We were charged 71 to fill up 19 litres of fuel as we couldn t find a petrol station on the road from where we were to Madrid airport That equates to 3 74 per litre when the terms and conditions state a refuelling service charge of 65p GBP over the price per litre at the petrol station So we were charged about 20 more than we should have been

Visited the Wolverhampton branch last week after my son arranged for my appointment from looking online Great selection of new cars but the price varied a lot more than advertised online and ended up costing me double for 2 days hire

There were warning lights on in the

There were warning lights on in the van low oil exhaust Also while driving had a warning that Ad Blue will run out in 170 miles it was less than 20 miles left on return I needed to clean the inside of the windscreen as I couldn t see much when the sun was in front of me The outside of the van was dirty as well
