Expensive for an Online Course

The course was 100 online so I found it expensive considering this Manukau Technical Institute does the same thing however Not really impressed by the reception or customer service person there - couldn t be bothered answering a simple question Regarding educational institutions here - maybe the changes next year will be for the better If you could have the luxury of learning on the job instead of paying out repeatedly to learn the basics And you reply to my complaint That was no reply I glad I went with a different educational provider You might also employ a New Zealander rather than the atrocious girl at Reception but perhaps she reflects the standard of professionalism of the school

The wording in the test was so

The wording in the test was so difficult to understand I had no one to ask to rephrase the sentence to be able to understand it The questions were jumping backwards and forwards through the study book we were given So was consistently trying to find the information by flipping through the pages I also felt like a lot of questions had the same answers

Fun but educationally informal

The course was a lot of fun very hands-on and practical learning with an engaging and friendly facilitator However from an educational standpoint it was a bit informal The basic skills and knowledge were taught by demonstrations and short lectures but there wasn t much control of whether everyone had mastered everything You could probably get away with a certificate by just giving everything a go Obviously there was a lot to cover in a small time frame but there would be ways to fix this Nonetheless I enjoyed myself and definitely came away with a greater knowledge and more practical skills that I could readily apply in the industry
B

Some good information but I could ve done with a little more

Some of the content I found really helpful specific and practical such as the section on costing I would have liked a lot more practical and helpful guidance on Food Safety Plans and the registration process - that was my primary reason for attending The book provided after the course will likely be a useful resource I am yet to read it

It was an average course for the cost

It was an average course and pricey compared to others The tutor was nice and engaging and knowledgeable I was disappointed that the cake recipe didn t cook properly we didn t get shown many chocolate design techniques and we only watched the spun sugar being made instead of getting a go ourselves The course finished an hour early

Should be shorter

What was a 5 hour course could have easily been done in 2 5 hours Lots of talking but not much being said
J

Some of the questions were worded

Some of the questions were worded weirdly and some werent covered in the day course but other than that fine
