Avoid - Shocking customer service
This is by far one of the worst auction rooms in the country please read the reviews on here and on google I purchased a lot thru there Teddington Auction Rooms after eventually receiving a condition report I left a bid based on the condition report I received I won the lot and drove a round trip of 200 miles 5 hours to collect and the items were no where near as described in the condition report they were absolutely caked in nicotine they were absolutely disgusting they stunk the car out we could not even have them in the house It took us absolutely weeks to sort out and some items had to be thrown away as they were so bad We complained at the time and got no luck we sent in over 10 emails in all were ignored I put a complaint in The Saleroom as we used there platform to purchase I eventually got a response from Chris Kirkham after 2 months which to be honest was rather patronising then a response from Mr Hanson asking me to ring him that was a waste of time he asked to re-send the emails to him I has now been 4 months since these items were purchased and nothing A friend had a similar problem with an incorrect condition report a fortnight after me and his problem was re-solved within a week I have logged a complaint with The Saleroom who also informed that they were having difficulty get any response and have this week also put a complaint into trading standards I will be posting this review on as many sites that I can as I am absolutely disgusted how I have been treated and also ignored No doubt Mr Hanson will respond with his phone no and ask me to ring which I will not you had your chance to sort this out and you have not I will not be recommending your auction rooms to anyone you should be ashamed

Stay away international buyers and sellers
Bought a lot I was happy getting As it went very cheap I am an international buyer but had the item shipped to a friend in England They shipped the item a 2 piece porcelain compote The top plate did not fit in the box so was just put in sideways touching the sides so that was of course in pieces when it arrived I took pictures of the box item and so on as requested But they then claim I can not get compensation since I have the piece here in Denmark but the box in England I have heard many excuses but not one like this before So international or non local buyers This is not a place to use at least not their own shipping As they do not know how to pack For sellers not the place to sell as they do not get the right value for their items

Do not buy from Charles Hansons company
Yet again Charles Hanson says he will arrange to collect and repair and return the picture we bought in his auction that was then damaged by his compnay yet still sent to us we have had had to do all the chasing now over 100 emails and been made to feel the guilty party His replies try to make out that he has done the right thing but he just delays and delays and you have to chase and chase We have got a restorer who is doing a reduced price as a favour to a family memeber and yet Charles queries that - so asked him to collect and repair himself and return We have paid for this picture months and months ago and have had to spend so much time chasing and still have a damaged picture Charles your attitude to your customers says a lot about you and I would stronlgy warn anyone of buying from your company if this is how you behave Please do not do another of your time wasting glib answers trying to paint you as in the right - just do what you said you would do and collect and repair and return which will cost you a lot more than we were getting it done for but that is entirely your fault as was the damage to our picture as it was done by your comapany Any decent comapny would have repired it before sending and at the very least profusly apologies and had it repaired long ago to the customers satisfaction - but not you

How not to auction valuables
The initial contact with Steve at our home was very efficient He enthused about the value of the items and even said should it not sell for his minimum price I ll buy it myself He took the items away promising an official valuation but nothing came I contacted Steve who apologised Then the listing wasn t correct and he promised to update tomorrow Did not Chased again and a further day later it was updated I complained that it was a disappointing start The auction arrived and went with absolutely no feedback and after I contacted Steve again he explained that they would have contacted us in a couple of days He also said it was bid up to 300 but our reserve his recommendation stopped the sale We rolled over and David then suggested dropping the reserve altogether We declined and it entered the July auction Exactly the same no feedback during the auction and aftersales - none An invoice arrived a week later with sale value 0 Finally a lady called to arrange collection I told how poor this experience had been and all that I have written here and she apologised for this without offering any explanation except that we are very busy She also announced that they had received NO bids which was a contradiction of what Steve had said Would not recommend this company - no customer service expertise or technology I guess had it sold they would have been first in the queue for their undeserved high fees

Beware
I had some Harry Potter books sold by this auctioneer house my biggest mistake ever The books were put into auction over 2 years ago firstly I was told didn t reach the reserve I asked for them to be put into the next suitable auction with the same reserveThe books were sold for under my original reserve after lots of phone calls emails calls not being returned I was then ignored completely 2 years later I received my payment for the books was told it was an oversight Would never deal with them again Hi sorry for the late response to your reply I had an emergency to sort out I am disgusted with the way I have been treated by your company I only had a response from yourself as I had put a review on trustpilot All my calls emails were ignored for nearly 2 years I disagree with your response I had a reserve on my books which was ignored I would like to take this matter further can you confirm what governing body that you are a member off I would also like written evidence you have which shows I would accept a much lower offer than my reserve Thanks
