I would not recommend renting with Localiza
Unfortunately I rented a car from RentingColombia or Localiza RentaCar If you are not a resident of Colombia if you are an overseas visitor I would not recommend renting with this company I rented a vehicle in December and was entitled to a refund form the service after the car was returned The reimbursement process is not acceptable it has been 4 months of unsuccessful communication with their agents 4 months I still do not have a refund And if you do not have an account in Colombia forget about your money I think they are playing the waiting game and expecting that I d eventually gave up and just forget about the refund

Summary not trustworthy company - crooks I used Localiza this summer in Brazil during holidays Car itself was fine but I returned the car one day before end of reserved and prepaid period and never managed to get a reimbursement for the last day I argued with them during months and numerous emails But i their level of English is poor and ii they never accepted to really enter the discussion provided irrational arguments and refused to provide any answer to the questions I asked them Typical behavior of crooks I will never use them again

Rented a car in Recife airport location service in Brazil on 3 20 20 for 200brazilianreais localiza took 1500brazilianreais as deposit that same day I returned the car on 3 22 20 that day they told me that their system was down and I should get my refund in 48hours Now I am in S o Paulo is 3 29 20 and their system is still down and they are acting so calmed like a downed system was nothing They are lying to keep customers money in their accounts because of the Coronavirus Not acceptable Last time as I did with hertz never again

No service and Credit card fraud
Stay clear of this company people They operate mainly in Brasil and that s where the problems start They have an English website so booking is ok BUT when you get there not a single member of staff speaks ANY English and all the paperwork they push at you is in Portuguese A fault on THEIR website which showed prices at the local currency instead of so they say US dollars was booked and agreed online When you get there they try to book the rest to make up the UD dollar rate and even FORGE your details onto credit slips and send it to the card company Try to get hold of them to complain then hold your breath expect to wait hours on hold to Brasil just to be fobbed off

I Did ren a car in belo horizonte on June 14 2023 for 4 days I did show that thru e-dreams I have purchased insurance for the 4 days Localiza charged me for insurance eventhough I did show them my insurance receipt

Horrendous Dont rent here Rented a premium car for 27 days in
Rented a premium car for 27 days in Cali Colombia at the airport at a high cost but car had issues when I tried to replace it they refused to do so claiming company policy is not to change cars Horrible customer service crazy ridiculous rule sthat I have to pay for something i don t like and terrible service when I call to complain Never again

Worst company ever
Worst company ever My wife left her phone on the car when returning the car We went ask to see the car ans they told us it was rented out again Then the representative named Angie told me to get out or she would call security when she realize we were recording the conversation When we were leaving she told the security guard to lock us and was demanding to check our phone or she won t let us leave She let us leave until I deleted the recording Then we wanted to return the car earlier and they wont give us a refund for early return Worse experience ever dont rent from them

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE DO NOT USE
I would give this company zero as they do not speak English and advise any European or American NOT to rent off them They have a competitive price but my car stopped working and the 0800 number they give does not work using a European phone and they do not answer E mails Luckily with Brasilian friends they managed to speak to Localiza for me and the answer was that Localiza FLORIANOPOLIS have so many cars being dealt with broken down that they could not attend to me until today 24 hours later No apologies given Instead of changing the car he has just left it being charged up so the same problem will occur again THEY MUST CHANGE THE CAR

Discrimination and bad service
Discrimination and bad service Firstly they descriminante between nationalities I am married to a Brazilian but because I am not Brazilian we were not allowed to drive more than 3000 KM if you are Brazilian you can get 5000 KM it ruined all our plans as we had a big road trip planned Secondly we rented for 1 month and because the agency is closed the day of return they forced us to rent 1 month and 1 day the 1 extra day is way more expensive than the monthly rate Horrible service

Credit Card Fraud - If you rent from this company SAVE A COPY OF YOUR ORIGINAL CONTRACT AND ALL RECEIPTS AT CHECKOUT They will continue to overcharge your credit card for 6 months after returning the car If you disable your credit card they will send FALSIFIED versions of your contract and signature to your bank to force more charges to your credit card They conduct business illegally I rented in S o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro late 2021
