Ordered from them for decades but lately they seem to be falling apart Tried to order a cymbal a month ago the site kept freezing checkout Tablet desktop same issue Gave my 250 to Sweetwater instead Just tried to order an Alesis Nitro Drum kit Same problem Slow response to online chat no ability to email Another 400 to Sweetwater It s like they re TRYING to fail I m done

Guitar case I ordered was waaaay too big for my standard-sized Gibson Les Paul Jr Wanted to exchange my case for a better-known brand but MF wouldn t pay the return shipping -- And individual return via USPS or UPS would ve run 50 MF used to be a great company but now Sweetwater is the company to trust

Stay away from this business Ordered a new guitar on their website and received an open box item not even in the original packaging Highly suspect business practices Return is a hassle because haven t receive any return label in spite of multiple calls

Pure Spam

I bought some speakers about 5 years ago and I still get multiple spam emails per day They are perhaps the worst spammers I have ever experienced Further you cannot successfully unsubscribe from their emails because their communication preferences page seems to load conveniently just before the options selections are implied to be I have confirmed this across multiple browsers and devices I have even CALLED to try and unsubscribe I haven t been able to reach anyone across multiple calls and wait times ranging from 10-45 minutes Absolutely pitiful Take your money elsewhere Do not give them any information much less any money PS If you remove my email from your mailing list the same one I used to post this review I will take down the review

MUSICIANS FRIENDS DO NOT MATCH PRICES

I have bees buying instruments from Musicians Friends for many years and was told and FOOLISHLY BELIEVED that the matched prices of legit competitors brick and mortar shops Well this Black Friday I got a price that was 20 off for a guitar from the Woodwind and Brasswind When I called up MF the sales rep stated I CANT MATCH THAT PRICE CAUSE THEY MAY HAVE A SPECIAL DEAL WITH THE GUITAR COMPANY I questioned that cause the W and B is a legit brick and mortar company and an on line shop as well I then purchased the item from The Woodwind and Brasswind as obviously THEIR MATCHING PRICES POLICY IS FALSE

package not received

Bought a guitar it never came Now I have to wait two weeks to find out if they are giving me a refund or not even though I never got the item To address the reply they are already working on it So far I got no updates from musicians friend or ups and I m honestly just going to file a claim with my credit card I was told over a week ago I would get an email from a manager nothing I was told last Tuesday I would get more info from the sales guy o had to harass him to get back to me yesterday Do not buy here

Discount scam for selling their credit card

My attention was caught by a guitar available to purchase online with a good discount So I ordered it and apply for their credit card to have a promotional no APR financing The next day they canceled my order because the guitar was already sold I ended up having this unwanted credit card and hard inquiry Even the whole discount seemed like a scam The guitar was only available in 2 stores Guitar Center and Musician s Friend They are sister companies Basically one store showed full price and another sells it with a discount But the internet showed that this guitar has always been for the discounted price before They got me to apply for their credit card for nothing Support didn t help at all just literally ended my conversation with them

Excellent rated used Bass combo amps Dead on arrival

2nd Bass combo amp they sent me and both were rated as excellent neither worked right out of the box To be fair the 1st one did for X5 minutes and then would just power itself off MF rep said they would give me a full refund including CA tax and shipping cost but of course I never got the shipping cost back so I lost 35 bucks on each broken excellent amp It s no wonder their parent company Guitar Center just filed for bankruptcy protection Why didn t I see these reviews before I ordered from them -

Wow I just called to ask a couple of questions about a bass and possibly place an order Absolutely worst Customer Service I ve ever encountered from a music store Truly the worst ever I m both a Guitar Center and a Sweetwater customer I thought I might add Musician s Friend Nope Never Wow Underwhelmed is an understatement Can begin to imagine what conversation would be like if I had a problem with a purchase Stay clear folks
