Incredible thermostat and system

We have just purchased a new 3rd generation learning thermostat to operate our new Worcester Bosch boiler So far we are incredibly impressed with it Our electrician who we always use for all important installations is an approved Nest installer so we were in very capable hands The whole system is incredible and amazingly clever Being able to control our hot water and central heating from our mobile phones is fantastic The eco mode saves unnecessary heating costs when we are not at home and the learning aspect of the thermostat is very impressive The only drawback of this is the current UK weather which has been so changeable that it makes it hard for the thermostat to learn a weekly pattern that we want it to stick to This is by no means a fault or any criticism of the product though Watching our electrician as he installed the system I realise that this is well above my DIY capability and I cannot imagine any homeowner without substantial electrical experience having the slimmest chance of successfully installing this Nest system I do wonder if some of the negative reviews on this site are due to non-professional installations causing issues with the functionality as I have nothing but praise for ours and would recommend it as I already have to anyone

Just read some 1 star reviews but my experience is absolutely the opposite We had a nest in our Florida Villa for years and were impressed with it When we sold our house in Florida and bought a flat in Scarborough we put in a nest when we installed central heating Unfortunately the electricians and central heating people didn t communicate properly and when the Nest was wired in it blew - looks like the electricians left high voltage wires instead of dc wires It is quite difficult in the instructions to see how to wire in the thermostat though it does actually say when you find it Anyway I phone Nest technical support who asked me to send photos of the unit They then phoned me back and said I d most likely need both the front and back parts of the thermostat and they would send them out to me I had my credit card ready but they said there would be no charge This is not their fault but are happy to replace the unit that our tradespeople wired in incorrectly - I m very impressed

I install loads of these as well as having one in my own home The work very well and do help save you money on your bills Must buy imo

It really frustrates me to read 1 star reviews - this is an amazing product If you think you could build a better thermostat then go and build one yourself stop moaning

I m very surprised to see so many negative reviews My experience with Nest has been nothing but positive I currently have two indoor camera s and one outdoor One of the indoor cameras is actually at another location I subscribe to Nest Aware The quality of the product is amazing Cameras are so clear night and day My notifications to my cell phone work perfect I had one little issue that was not related to the product itself but to an error on my part Technical support was amazing and very quick to resolve the issue I couldn t be more pleased with everyone that I have dealt with at this company from the time I purchased it a couple of years ago up through yesterday I have recommended this product to everyone I know

Worst thermostat ever

Worst thermostat ever I installed BN it myself It worked fine until the rechargable battery drained Then it kept cycling my heat on and off to charge the battery I installed a common wire so the thermostat would have power all the time That didn t work because the battery was failing to take a charge I hired a nest pro come out they couldn t resolve my issue on the first attempt saying my furnace needed to be rewired On the second attempt he rewired my furnace and left the fan on constantly and left without fixing my issue and then wouldn t return my calls I pulled the thermostat replaced it with a programmable one and it s working fine 600 00 dollars for nothing Don t buy best products
