An okay experience overall

An okay experience overall Ordered a Gravel AL on the Cycle to Work scheme A little disappointed at the lack of flexibility in terms of allowing a top up of the voucher Amazes me that a company wouldn t move goalposts for an extra 1k in revenue but RC s loss ultimately tried to negotiate paying the difference there and then for the ALe but this was knocked back Decided to go to the Clitheroe showroom on a Saturday Two assistants working who were with other customers and we had to wait a fair while to be greeted Expected a wait but to not even be greeted seemed a bit rude The guy who configured the bike was a real asset to RC Miles - personable knew his stuff and enjoyed the interaction Delivery to the showroom requested so I could get a handover and further glean knowledge from the team about my new purchase This is where the experience went down hill a little Didn t get the guys name but he was disinterested and seemed to just want to get me out of the door as quickly as possible Used fairly casual language and forgot to give me accessories which he phoned to tell me as I was heading back Didn t really learn anything new at the handover and left feeling like I should have just arranged a home delivery As for the bike I absolutely love it Just a shame they wouldn t let me top it up for the electric assisted version

I love my new Ribble but the post-sales experience could be improved

Let me start by saying I love my new Ribble Endurance SLR Disc It s a great bike and excellent value for money vs bikes in the same category I had spent several months researching road bikes before settling on this bike and model My one major piece of feedback is that the after deciding to part with over 4k for a new bike through a fully online sales experience I would have expected to be kept update on progress of the build Instead I heard nothing after the initial build confirmation email even the update on my account reflected no progress It was only after the build date passed and I queried it did I get an email back saying it s been through QA and is being dispatched today I feel Ribble are missing a massive opportunity here - being an online retailer and asking customers to part with a large sum of money for a bike which in my case I had never tested or seen before Keeping customers updated through regular emails and even pictures or videos of the build to keep us excited - If you really want to stand out Ribble focus on the buying experience as much as your great bikes

Generally good but took a 7full days

Generally good but took a 7full days to get here Any real-time contact is VERY VERY difficult as are almost all retailers now making it frustrating

Dispatched late

Great product great price but the item was only posted to me after I called for an update 3 days after ordering I don t expect next day delivery but I also don t expect it to take 3 days a phone call for it to be dispatched

Really good deal

Really good deal love the bike Disappointed with the hand over felt rushed I have had to do a lot of on line research to work out the use maintenance of Di2 plus how to remove wheels etc for puncture repair None of this was considered

Needed a derailleur hanger for my R872

Needed a derailleur hanger for my R872 Couldn t find it on the website so emailed Ribble with the original build sheet and asked which one Took a few days but they replied and sent a link And it s the wrong one Disappointing especially as I walked into my LBS and showed them Their reply was no problem it ll take a couple of days but we will get it

Got better

To start with it was not a good experience as they sent me a derailleur when I d asked for a cassette as I live near their depot I wanted to go through the same day and swap the item for the right one but I was told you can t do that I thought this was very poor considering it was their fault I had to return the item by post at 9-45 and they would send the cassette and refund me the postage when they had received it That s when things got better as my cassette turned up four days later and my 9-45 a week later than that so in the end it turned out ok what a great pity the wrong item was sent in the first place I mean there is a bit of a difference between a cassette and a derailleur isn t there

Great bike Forget customer service

Bought a fully loaded hybrid last summer specifically for touring holidays As a result the bike has only been ridden for about 50 miles A couple of weeks ago my back wheel fell out and I discovered the derailleur hanger hadn t been screwed to the frame I contacted customer services who said this was not the case and that the problem was that I hadn t had the bike serviced within 10 weeks of purchase I found the complete lack of interest rather insulting and I notice that other reviews indicate build problems Ribble need to give greater credence to the customer and consider looking at their Quality Assurance system

Really competitive priced but slow to dispatch I bought some tyres from another online bike shop on the same day and they arrived before Ribble had even dispatched my order
