Lamp shade

The service I got from socket store was very good I was kept informed of delivery and all happened as expected I bought a single brushed brass light switch which is rubbish My husband put masking tape on it when he screwed it in as we have previously had problems if the screwdriver slips when putting in screws When he carefully took off the masking tape the surface of the back plate peeled off too This is a very poor quality thin product I would not buy from this company again and now have to go elsewhere to find a quality replacement product

Friendly service - but slow lead times

No problem with Socket a Store Lamp shades arrived promptly and well packaged Unfortunately black lampshades could do with white or gold lining which these don t have They give off much less light than the shades they were replacing I will probably have to get new ones in due course

Good product tardy delivery

Good level of customer service helpful and friendly Only problem was that I ordered all the lights I needed from socket store and they could only supply half the order when I needed it So I ended up with the hassle of sourcing from another 2 different suppliers to meet my deadline

Well satisfied with the product and well packaged despite what I would consider rather expensive p p However - ordered between 0900 and 1000 hrs on Friday not dispatched until Monday afternoon Item not received until the following Thursday regular post office delivery - they really do need a boot up the proverbial backside if not good proper privatisation so job delayed Other items for the work from two other sources also ordered at about the same time were delivered by couriers Monday and Tuesday respectively

Replacing switch from them that broke at 1 year

ordered 2 items but found out that only 1 was in stock and the other item was on backorder and would take 7-14 days day 5 - have taken my money haven t received anything yet not even the one in stock its now a waiting game it happens good job I have a lot of candles

USB charging sockets

While I cannot fault Socketstore on their quick delivery I have experienced very good customer service from them in the past replaced wrong product delivered I was very disappointed to have to make my most recent purchase It was a light switch to replace one that stropped working confirmed switch fault at just 13 months from purchase 12 months from fitting Warranty is only 12 months I hope that this is not indicative of the quality of Socketstore products as I bought plenty from them

Parts aren t worth their price

Delivery seems to take longer than similar purchases else where The metalwork of the face plate is considerably thinner than the plate that it was replacing No sealing gasket on the back as similar products previously purchased have had The face plate was smaller by several millimeters than the existing plate Disappointing considering that it was far more expensive than the Screwfix alternative and that I made my choice for what I considered by the price to be a premium product

Unfortunate quality issues

Bought a load of their stainless steel sockets and switches All I can say is they are of a cheap construction Thin metal and not worth the price they charged The dimmer modules themselves are very good but the stainless part very cheap and the plastic is pointless Would of returned if it wasn t a last minute job needed doing

A mixed kettle of fish

I had bought a single socket and a light switch I went to change the light switch but two of the screws did not tightened down on the cable cores This represents a hazardous situation with loose connections I did not try the socket and returned both as I had no confidence in the quality Other than that issue the service was good hence the 3 stars

Nice finish to our new kitchen

Initially I was very impressed with Socket Store The range of products they stock and the communication from then once I purchased an item was excellent However when my items arrived well packaged and as described and I read the fitting instructions it clearly stated the need for a rubber gasket The product did not come with said gasket and I cannot seem to find anywhere online including the Socket Store that does sell them
