The reviews almost put me off ordering but the book arrived on time so no issues with fulfillment However the condition is not Very Good as stated it is Poor Still - it s a book that s out of print and it s useable and the price was ok

The service and selections of the website are excellent However the key problem I have is that I must make an account with their website in order to buy goods and services I would rather not have an account for a service that I use once or twice every three or so months

Abebooks is a great place to get antiquarian books and for the job I m in were just about all the books I need are out of print I find it an invaluable website I also very much appreciate the wish list and they will email you if any of the books you re looking for are listed But my god I have never come across a selection of sellers ANYWHERE that dispatches as slow as the seller s on here And they get snippy as hell if you try chasing them up It s soooooo annoying and it s every seller it seems I definitely use this website a lot less often than I used to

There is no option to review the products on their site so it s difficult to share an opinion there when they haven t been great I ordered a book in excellent condition I knew it was used but it has a big sticky tape mark down the front cover and stinks of smoke The book itself is intact and everything I m not looking for any action but I wish there was an option to share that feedback on the seller s page or the product page

The description for my book was Very good clean undamaged book with no damage to pages and minimal wear to the cover Spine still tight in very good condition When the book arrived however the cover was torn battered and soiled with at least half the pages stained and wrinkled after being submerged in water or some other liquid update after submitting a complaint I was issued with a full refund I ve decided to give Abe Books another try and hope for better results

I ve ordered quite a few books through Abe and have had some bargains this way Unfortunately since they act as a distributor for other bookseller after sales isn t always what it should be I recently had to really push to get all my money back after I was sent a study guide for a book instead of the actual book At first it was argued I should have realised the ISBN number didn t match and the picture was slightly different even though the description didn t state Study Guide Thankfully after help from Citizens Advice Abe did give me a full refund

Please note approximately a month after I have written the review below I got a full refund from Abebooks So I am not deleting it because it has helped me but I want to point out that they corrected their mistake so I am going to up the star rating On December 3rd I bought a book through abebooks which was apparently offered by this seller Great Book Prices UK On the same day of the purchase I then realised I already had a copy of the book and cancelled it through the website option As for today December 8th nobody has acknowledged my several emails asking to cancell and don t send the book Instead I received the shipping confirmation The most outrageous thing is the fact that they charge 5 pounds for delivery and then I get December 24th as the estimate delivery date This is british based book seller and the book has been sourced out the country Moreover nobody will be here on that day or around it Abebooks are themselves doing absolutely nothing about it

First time user of Abe Books There was a good number of suppliers for the book I was after so I deliberately used condition of the book to select one It was listed as very good condition but in fact I d say it was at best probably fair condition as it had lots of crease lines on both covers and the spine So be wary of the condition element of the listings I ve given the site 3 stars since the book arrived quickly and the price was good but I d have happily paid a bit more for a genuinely very good condition one I d recommend caution using Abe Books

Unfortunately AbeBooks do not make it clear enough that they are only an umbrella marketplace company that puts you in contact with real booksellers This means that scam companies get a free ride on the back of the excellent behaviour of genuine booksellers I want to record that MW books of Claregalway Ireland are a trustworthy company who give excellent book descriptions use reliable couriers and provide patient and professionally flawless Customer Service

First time user I ordered some sheet music which is out of print and I needed the version with CD rather than download Condition was listed as very good with limited marks of use clean pages and an undamaged spine I would describe the condition as fair at best All corners are bent and soft there is a name written in pen inside the cover and the book was absolutely full of pencil markings This is how music books that have been used can get but the marking was extensive and certainly couldn t be described as clean pages I have rubbed the pencil markings out but this was not the condition which was described The CDs are very scuffed I paid for quicker postage and the item arrived quickly After I had paid my email said the delivery estimate was 8 days which was not the 1-2 days I had paid for However my email to query this was answered the next day and the item did arrive promptly I have given 3 stars based on these two things For the condition alone it would have been 1 star
