I ve been using Cd Japan for years and never had an issue until last week I placed an order for 2 items a model and some decals total including shipping 5600 2 days later I m told the decals aren t being sold anymore this is fine except a week later they re still selling them which is odd 4 days later I get an email saying the item is too heavy to send via my chosen shipping method Registered sal and it would have to be sent EMS for an extra 7000 and that I should reply and let them know how I wanted to proceed I immediately thought that this was odd due to other sizes all offer my chosen shipping method Registered SAL as it s under the size and weight required for cdjs A3 box with this shipping method After double checking with 2 other large model exporters it seemed there was an issue and I contactred them stating the size weight was within their limits for registered sal and that other sites offered this option and it in fact wasn t over weight as stated by Japan post site They immideitly tried to charge me for EMS shipping within an hour of replying with my issue luckily I use a 2nd account for ordering and only keep the amount needed in credit for security reasons and their attempt was declined I then contacted them again stating my issue and the fact they hadn t done as asked and that I didn t authorise the purchase with their amendments I was then contacted back 2 days later and they d checked and seen it was indeed fine to be shipped registered sal and here is where the issue lies They then decided to charge me nearly 1000 more than the shipping was originally when I ordered 2 items and upon checking a newly placed order would of been even cheaper they never stated this they just went ahead and charged the amount without confirming anything and my complaints are going in answered This is nothing short of fraud theft and anti consumer I ve contacted a Japanese watchdog agency to report them and supplied evidence and I ll be contacting my bank to have a charge back issued I ve had nothing but good things to say about this company over the years but this particular incident has rubbed me the wrong way as I feel like they re just taking advantage of overseas customers

After I paid for an item and shipping they sent me an invoice for 40 extra in shipping

its almost a month i ordered the item but till now i havent receive tracking number i dont know when will they ship it out

I ordered a limited edition item through CDJapan that was to be delivered via a proxy shipping service It was more expensive than the item was worth but ordering it was hassle free Or so I thought The day that sales were scheduled to end I got an email informing me that my order had been cancelled because said item was out of stock I quickly checked the original site where the item was for sale they only ship to Japan and accept Japanese credit cards and verified that the item was actually still in stock I had to scramble for several hours to find another proxy service that would be able to place an order in time Thankfully I found one that not only ordered the item for me within minutes but was much cheaper than CDJapan This was my first order with CDJapan because I can usually find what I want elsewhere and for much cheaper too It is unlikely that I will use CDJapan again At least they refunded my money

Sometimes they are good but try to have them cancel an order and they give you the run around about how its automated shipping and they can t cancel Then it s still 7 days till they ship to you so in 7 days you still couldn t cancel

My experience lately with CDJapan has been very poor Twice I was very dissatisfied with how you have handled the situations Both times I ordered products listed as Pre-order The reason to put a pre-order is to secure the product when it is being released without running the risk of being sold out However both times I was not informed of the product being sold out and that I have to wait 2-3 weeks or possibly may not be available Only after writing to ask about the shipping that I was informed of the wait On both occasions the purchases was so I could give as a gift on time Unfortunately it did not happen I also did not receive a reply when I expressed my dissatisfaction that followed the email I have been a loyal customers for years and I felt undervalued and under-appreciated It is what it is and I may be looking for alternative sources of purchases in future Sad

CDJapan uses outside sellers who are not to be trusted I live in Indiana and had eight CDs not sent

Shipping and products are very expensive Very good customer service Sadly one of the CDs was broken

I used to trust this retailer but now my trust in this retailer has been forever shattered Their return and exchange policy leaves much to be desired It s already bad enough that freebies that come with certain new releases are not replaceable but once I knew they are not willing to replace music CDs break inside a malfunctioning external CD drive it was definitely time to reconsider my business relationship with the retailer I tried to ask them to replace a music CD that broke inside my CD drive but they only replace music CDs that are broken or defective on arrival but I literally cannot determine if a CD is their definition of defective if I can t listen to all of the tracks I was able to get them to make an exception but I do feel like they need to review their returns and replacement policies
