Not what is seems Dissapointed

I have to change my review based on my experience which hasn t been easy Company doesn t allow you to directly edit your booking with the airline unless they are receiving commission They will tell you it s part of the airlines policy but the airline will tell you something completely different Wanted to upgrade my ticket original airline offered me one price but this company will offer you double the price so they are sure to make money off it They also refused for me to get in touch with the man who made my original booking Not trustworthy as I thought Wouldn t use again

Booked flight which was unavailable

Booked a flight which got declined due to flight no longer available Why have flights showing which are not available Received a phone call straight away offering alternate flights at a higher price or the same flight i originally chose with flexible economy - When i asked the call person why there wouldn t be availability for basic economy but there is for flexible economy only difference is the option to change your flight he could not answer Very disappointed as y ou have some really good reviews - however on this occasion my trust was lost when he couldn t answer my question

Bait Switch Fraud

Like many other 1 star reviews I booked flights on this website because they had the best price advertised only to have my booking declined Then I receive a call from customer service asking me to pay more to book the same flight Crystal Travel makes use of bait switch techniques which is illegal in England and Wales Bait and switch is banned under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 Edit after reply Customers don t care if your online portal and live system don t match If you have technical issues it s your problem to fix You should always honour the prices you advertise

In the past Google Flights found the best airfares and then let you book them directly through Google Now when Google finds a flight it sends you to your choice of one of several travel companies including Crystal Crystal offered the lowest price of the five travel agencies Google provided As far as I can tell the low fares offered do not actually exist After going through the entire booking process names of travelers birthdates seat selection etc etc and putting down my credit card I waiting for email confirmation and was informed that my request had been denied When I called Crystal to find out why I was told the seats no longer existed -- would I like them to book me a different flight for 130 more per person No thanks I received an unsolicited call 10 minutes later from Crystal -- how about 160 more per person In fairness I tried other agencies that Google recommended and none of them could come up with the price that Google had provided An honest error or an intentional bait and switch I wound up booking the same seats that Crystal said did not exist by going directly through the airline and they did cost 130 more than originally quoted but at least it was an easier booking process

Was making a booking and received a call from agent he reserved the seats and price gone up I am a travel agent those who really want to book a flight i have a advise for you never call them for a cheaper fare You will lose the one you already have Luckly i found much cheaper fare somewhere else so I am not sure that reserve seats trick even works anymore I remember back in the days thats was the way to make most money

Unreliable pricing

Went to book a flight via a well known aggregator Crystal were the cheapest I got to the payment screen and was told the payment was not accepted rather than declined so I called the number given Turns out the price given didn t exist in the first place No attempt from the person on the phone to explain this - went straight into a sales pitch for another more expensive flight Questionable from both a sales practice showing prices that don t exist and customer service practice deliberately not explaining what was going on Won t be clicking on anything to dow with Crystal Travel again

A poor service all round

A poor service all round Payment did not go through on their www they sent me a link to do it a different way payment then left my card but no confirmation received and so no e-ticket provided - I have paid for nothing Six days later they still haven t resolved this Avoid dealing with this company

Don t Crystal can t handle straightforward purchase and end up hassling you

Don t Tried to book BA flight in UK - could hardly be more straightforward Crystal took payment but no confirmation BA had booking but hinted no money Credit card confirmed not paid Crystal staff started phoning me 2 or 3 times to get payment I m not paying anyone who phones me - probably scammers Paid again went through this time What a hassle for a very straightforward purchase Don t

Luggage included confirmed but refused to enact

Please look through the lower star reviews and ask on the off chance do you want this happening to you Long haul flight booked at 13 00 There are various other flights at cheaper rates but I chose the slightly more expensive one because it states check in baggage is included Booking confirmation comes through and confirms check in baggage Later I receive the e-ticket confirmation and my name is wrong on the ticket confirmation and my check in baggage is not included I call the company immediately after describe my issues get transferred described my issue again and get told that they will call me back This happens a few more times and over the course of the day They inform me at 15 38 that they will call me back in 30 minutes after they speak with their supervisor One hour later - nothing I call back out describe my issue get transferred describe my issue again By now it s 18 44 and I am informed that they can change my name they got it wrong in the first place for free but I will have to pay for the luggage myself I highlighted that my booking confirmation states check in baggage included as confirmed by themselves their website continues to show that baggage is included They state it is an technical error with their website and that it had not updated I pointed out to them that this may be the case but what we have is booked confirmation of included check in luggage notwithstanding They informed me that I can always pay for luggage myself but it will be circa 100 I know paying for myself is always an option but they did not have any foresight to volunteer a solution to an error with their process website I also reminded them that it would not cost 100 as the airline direct is only charging 42 per way In attempt to add pressure I was told that flights like this go for 900 which was not true as I was checking during the call The member of staff states that he negotiated a deal with his supervisor and his boss to 31 per way but they will not be paying for it Note this is a company with 2 9 million profit and a turnover of 358 million as per company house as of 2023 I reminded them that I had a booking confirmation by them My ticket included check in luggage They refused to pay and pushed me to refund citing this as the fix Fixing the situation will be paying for my luggage as customer goodwill and as contractually confirmed by my booking Proposing a refund as a fix is not a fix it is my right Can I enforce what was contractually confirmed Yes Will I do it when everything with this company has been an uphill struggle Unlikely I will vote with my money and shop elsewhere Ultimately I am left extremely disappointed for the following reasons - A fundamental error in the booking process Getting my getting my name wrong despite being presented it correctly to them - Advertising still that check in luggage was included only to cite a technical error with their website despite me having a booking confirmation contract - Despite acknowledging that it was an error on their end to then have the audacity to ask me to pay for it Any self-respecting company who cares and looks after their customers will comp the luggage fee - For what is a really simple fix 5 hours was spent back and forth with customer service They were unable to escalate issues on the phone always to call you back - I am now waiting a number of day waiting for a refund of my ticket amount 600 for the privilege Avoid Spend a little bit more money for better customer service which you hope will never need instead Do your due diligence on the company itself or buy direct
