Supplier of flooring seemingly sent wrong flooring Gillies informed us on the day floor was being prepared ie the day before flooring was laid Gillies said they had paid extra for next day delivery of correct flooring Did not arrive Gillies then said they would stay in contact they did not Floor left all weekend We contacted on Monday morning We contacted again on Tuesday morning The only time they could fit us in was Thursday a whole week late Office furniture and storage all over the house and garage All this with less than 2 weeks until Christmas Shocking service Feeling very let down

Absolute scandalous service Our first and LAST purchase with Gillies We ordered a leather sofa within approximately 20 hours of use it was highly apparent there was a fault with the leather Gillies cancelled their assessor on 3 occasions so the home assessment was never conducted at the time of delivery to the time of our first phone call of complaint which was within a two week period If I could rate Gillies 0 stars - I would Gillies have advised we have to pay for an independent assessor if we want to progress this further with the manufacturer A disgrace at the customers expense My Husband works abroad so has rarely sat on the sofa and I travel Scotland for work and hardly ever seated on the sofa Our 9 year old leather sofa is in FAR superior condition to their inferior faulty sofa of an only couple of months old We are disgusted We are telling everyone we know not to buy a sofa from Gillies If you are considering purchasing one I would STRONGLY recommend you purchasing one from either Sterling or Anderson s if you are located in NE Scotland and anywhere else bar Gillies if you are located elsewhere Diabolical experience Stuck with this thing now after waiting nearly a decade for a new one and this pile of rubbish won t even make a year if the faulty leather is in this condition after 20 odd hours of usage They have failed the customer miserably with our experience Appalling they should be ashamed

Already complained to Gillies but they are still to respond Installation furniture team shocking Cross threaded sofa leg screw as they took little care in securing bolt After they realised there error they then said just using the small screw which normally is used to stop the leg from turning would be fine to use to secure the leg without the bolt unbelievable Gillies had to send someone else out to retap thread and to secure the other legs correctly Also ordered a carpet with fitting the carpet fitter removed one of the doors and it wasn t till the next day and my complaining that a joiner was arranged to trim the door that evening Gillies used to be an excellent company for furniture and carpets but from these two episodes I would think twice using them again

Fitting delayed by 2 weeks due to dispute between Gillies surveyor and fitter as how best to lay the LVT with me acting as go-between The LVT fitter left my home in a terrible state with pink rubber glue over walls skirtings radiator and floor mats and cement over my front door and doorstep The carpet fitter badly damaged skirtings with a knife leaving scratches and gouges over almost the entire length of the skirtings I have been a loyal Gillies customer for almost 20 years but will never buy flooring from them again

Very poor service long delay in getting furniture top was then damaged when it eventually arrived The wrong top was originally ordered by Gilles also the quality of the furniture is poor the finish is sub standard not up to the usual standard

Despite being told we would have a new item we were delivered the display sofa

Two pieces ordered in May 6 weeks delivery fine phone call from store a delay still fine very patient 1 piece available but chose to wait for both pieces to arrive we are now in September and 2nd piece still not here requested delivery of the piece they had in store Second piece delivered 3rd October shocking to have to wait that long but had paid upfront in May not thinking it would be nearly 6 months before purchase would arrive

Really poor customer service you did not advise that my furniture order was ready for uplift It has been in the store for weeks apparently ready for uplift and no-one bothered to try and contact me by phone or indeed email me Very disappointing

I bought a bed and paid an extra 150 to have my old one uplifted Delivery guys told me abruptly that I should have wrapped my old mattress in polythene as they were not allowed to touch it Apparently I should have been given the polythene by the sales person in the shop and presumably wandered around town with this large package I had to put the mattress into polythene before they took it away Surely they could have used gloves if they were so concerned New bed is fine but this made it a bad experience 150 to do the work myself

The fitters were superb Way beyond our expectations 2 guys worked non stop for 8 hrs no breaks no phones Quality of work is great 5 star Very polite pleasant accommodating Would recommend them without hesitation Well done guys and thanks
