Disappointing

We had a good experience from purchasing g through to having carpets laid It was efficient and professional The situation re flooring was a whole different matter An agreed date to start work was missed and several phones calls were required to sort this out We were told that the joiner would come at a certain time and he turned up two and half hours later The next day he came 40 mins after saying he would The quality of his work was fine but this experience was so disappointing w

Unsatisfactory fitting

The team was on Job and Finish That might have contributed to the less than satisfactory outcome Two doors could not be closed after the carpet was fitted Perhaps the advised extra charge of 35 per door requiring cut was insufficiently attractive when they were on Job and Finish One threshold bar was installed with about 25mm showing on one end and very little showing at the other The door had been left slightly ajar to hide this On some threshold bars adhesive spray was visible with carpet dust adhering to the glue

Good quality product

Good quality product Remote control not working Technician to visit mid December Expensive Deposit paid in June not delivered till end of November Inconvenient because purchased due to advancing arthritis in knees Gillies is a company we have used many times over the years and found their interest free credit terms very useful but because they had given us a small discount we were refused interest free credit As pensioners paying a sum monthly would have been more convenient

No overshoes

The carpet was fitted well but on entry to the house we had to ask the fitters to put overshoes on to protect our flooring They did go to their t vehicle to collect these but feel this should be an automatic procedure Whilst fitting the carpet they then took the overshoes off and continued to go outside When asked why one of the fitters denied coming in with his trainers on despite me seeing this Our new carpet is very pale and it seems very inappropriate to wear outdoor shoes inside the customers home The entry to our house was left with muddy trainer marks which we then had to clean It would a simple exercise to always put the overshoes on inside the house after being outside Thank you

Great quality purchase delivery is

Great quality purchase delivery is 70 for a matress and i live only 1 2 a mile away

Customer comes firstMade a good sales pitch

Made a good sales pitch then when sale secured came the shock of delivery charges need for a mattress base We live in Perth about 5 minutes away from Gillies so costs were unacceptable and was going to cancel the order They reduced the delivery cost still a sizeable figure Then we were told we two 71 yr olds would have to put the old mattress into a polythene bag If this was a Health and Safety it was definitely with the purchasers back A solution to this problem would be to issue appropriate protective masks of the appropriate standard to suit Not a good experience

Unfortunately the purchase had to be cancelled We had initially been told the item was in stock and available for prompt delivery certainly before Christmas We were then told otherwise and that it would in all likelihood be after Christmas Had a gesture been made possibly cancelling the delivery charge or whatever I might have let the order sit and just wait the extra few weeks In the end I cancelled and actually managed to get the item cheaper and sooner elsewhere It was from a major nationwide retailer I would have much preferred buying locally from Gillies but they did make it a bit difficult for me

Recently bought a carpets and mattress

Recently bought a carpets and mattress Both occasions specific instructions on our delivery and install requirements were given but where not adhered to which involved rescheduling and some of the fitting not being done Great products but service delivery is poor

Good and not so good

I was shown numerous sofas and chairs in an attentive manner which impressed me However I was disappointed that the short length of cable from the powered chairs was not pointed out to me Nor was the possibility of using a battery mentioned until the refurbishing guys arrived They made a good job of disguising two marks that were not on the sofa in the store

Contacted Gillies after buying a new

Contacted Gillies after buying a new chair Waited a few weeks and was informed that the sales people had not passed the message to them to put this out for delivery However the chair arrived the next week
