Recently I was informed by HDI that my car main insurance will increase from current annual 430 Euros to a whooping 800 Euros for the next year while I have not had any accidents or contract changes That is an 86 increase and from what I see so far I am the humble record holder in this regard in Germany as there are no other higher claims so far After searching online about news in this regard I noticed that due to the sudden increase in gold prices in 2024 the price of insurance policies in Germany has to be increased by a minimum of around 20 for everyone The explanation was that due to the sudden irreversible increase of gold prices in 2024 for 2025 offerring insurance policies with the same old prices was impalatable for car insurers in Germany However here was the surprise for me the price of gold has increased by around 40 since one year ago so why only a 20 increase in insurance policies was claimed by news websites I was prepelexed until I did a full search for a replacement car insurance for my car and here my confusion subdued the minimum price of a replacement car insurance policy for my car was 600 Euros based on check24 offers So it means for the next year I have to pay 40 more for insurance which is 2 times higher than the minimum increase claimed by some news websites in this regard
