The staff were really helpful

The staff were really helpful took their time and explained everything I felt they were being honest when helping me to select a new pair of glasses I would have given 5 stars if the cost had been lower

My appointment was 3pm and I did not leave the premises until 5pm I think two and a half hours is a bit of a long time for one appointment The service when I got it was fine it was just the wait in between the eye test and the choosing of the spectacles that was extremely long

Hearing clearly again

This was my first experience of wax removal via microsuction Elenor explained clearly what was involved and communicated throughout the process The problem was effectively cleared up gently and patiently Then I completed a hearing test - again simple to do as well explained It felt wonderful to have full hearing back again Highly recommended

Wax removal

I needed wax removal and my clinician Elenor was brilliant She explained what was happening at every step I was very nervous and she kept me calm and while being friendly and professional The only reason my experience was not 5 star is the unfortunate high cost of the procedure

Unable to supply the lenses I needed although they are available from the manufacturer

I went along with my daughter who had an eye examination and needed a quote for my own spectacles Unfortunately your range of lenses was too restrictive for my requirements Hoya Lifestyle 4 1 67 Polarised into a rimless mount

The good people were excellent - others need training

The good people were excellent My initial interaction led me to think these people need training I telephoned from another branch needing what felt like an emergency appointment with this branch - the receptionist promptly connected me to my original branch without listening and thinking it through Ringing back her colleague did a full triage questionnaire was meant to ring back at a specific time but rang an hour early Just hadn t paid attention to the detail Then when I arrived the optician had no idea why I was there leaving me at a loss to understand why my time was wasted with triage Having to explain everything again But but but everyone else was STUNNINGLY GOOD The lady who did my scans had a great manner Lewis the specs fitting chap was EXCELLENT A lovely way with people A little training and this branch could be amongst the best opticians I have EVER been to

Great team working here but it s a shame the online booking won t allow you to request an optician upstairs or that there is no option other than two lots of stairs to get down to the opticians rooms or even a warning of that when booking an appointment Not a great place for the disabled

Elenor was exceptional

Elenor was exceptional Warm smile on greeting thorough explanation of procedure and courteous throughout Only reason 4 rather than 5 stars is the price far more than local competitors and the lack of a sound proof booth for the hearing test I could hear loud voices from the room next door therefore missing some of the sounds on the test I believe the Woodley branch has a sound proof booth - the Reading town centre store should definitely invest in one as a hearing test is inaccurate without one
