Dysfunctional Customer Service
Sold health insurance on the guidance from a Mapfre Customer Service Agent stating that they delivered private care within the immediate area I reside only to find out when I needed some intervention this was not the case and that Mapfre System was outdated therefore I could not be expected to pay for non deliverance of a service and cancelled my policy This led to a Mapfre representative in making telephone contact with myself stating due to my cancellation of my health care insurance there was now a requirement to pay my monthly car insurance plan in full which I willingly done at this time March 2024 My car insurance was due for renewal No representation received from Mapfre as to renewal costs or whether my plan had been reinstated back to the monthly plan Telephone contact made with Mapfre Customer Services Initially there was a refusal to deal with my enquiry over the phone continually directed to attend a localised office Provided explanation that the local office they where advising was not within my area of residence due to their failure in updating my address field Furthermore when dealing with the cancellation of my health insurance I had diligently followed their instructions and visited the nearest Mapfre Office to my address which incurs a 40 min drive unfortunately their representative could not converse in English and declined to utilise translator on the phone computer or the English speaking service provided by Mapfre Mapfre telephone representative then stated that because my car insurance plan was on continual renewal they did not have to advice on yearly increases denying me the customer a choice as whether their renewal was fit for purpose Secondly I was directed to await payment which would be taken from my bank account this would be on a yearly plan if I disagreed with the amount then I was to cancel payment and phone that I had done so and then a monthly plan would be setup This process is unbelievable and certainly not factual Diligently I would check my bank account daily no payments have been requested by Mapfre Not even sure whether I am covered by insurance to drive 13 March 2024 receive an email from Mapfre to the extent that I have to go to the online client area and make the necessary payments This company is not transparent and certainly does not act within a satisfactory code of practice in maintaining customer relations or practices I therefore have the unenviable task of now trying to cancel this policy because the whole customer service deliverance by Mapfre is not fit for purpose Mapfre provided a response to telephone 912 747 600 The customer service provider Canelas offered little in the way of help Stated that they could not cancel the policy but it would remain as not paid This could possibly effect my credit reference in the future Telephoned 966730093 Mapfre Office in La Zenia spoke with Darea Who also stated that the policy could not be cancelled and that it would remain in the failure to pay status None of the agents are able to provide reference numbers for my telephone calls so unsure whether my inquiries would be logged Transpires that my address has never been updated and the policy has gone to my old address even when I provided the relevant information regarding my impending move Mapfre representatives have never mentioned this prior to these two recent calls Avoid this company at all costs they make you into criminals by not taking ownership of their errors

Mapfre Travel insurance insurance is
Mapfre Travel insurance insurance is NOT recommendedAfter being on holiday in the USA in February March with travel insurance through the company Mapfre which cost me almost 100 for just two weeks of travel On the way home my passport was stolen while I was at the airport and I had to stay another 2 days to request an emergency passport I also had to buy a new return ticket I felt safe though as I thought my insurance company would have my back But to my surprise Mapfre will not cover my expenses I requested compensation for them to cover only the cost of my emergency passport and the new plane ticket But they denied any responsibility citing that they do not cover ID papers jewelry cash and credit cards in an article they have on baggage claims Article 45 Specific exceptions to baggage coverage I tried to appeal their decision saying that this was not a baggage claim but a theft case that added costs to my travels resulting in costs associated with getting home from the US After 14 days I was informed that their decision still stands I didn t even claim anything for the 2 extra days I had to stay in the US not lodging or food just for the expenses I had to get back home At this point I m left wondering exactly what my travel insurance actually covers Assuming similar treatment with other insurances this company offers I recommend staying away from Mapfre as they operate in very bad faith Home house insurance with Mapfre which I have had for 20 years is now being cancelled I absolutely do NOT trust this company Answer to Mapfre I used a lawyer after 2 refusals from you on this matter You turned down the lawyer too So in the end you sold me a very bad and super expensive travel insurance covered up by very bad conditiones

We bought a holiday home in Majorca 20
We rang the number supplied at a cost of almost 5 spoke to a man that said we were in the right and was owed money from Mapfre and someone would be in touch WE HAVE NOT HEARD ANOTHER WORD he took all details what a waste of time that was but I will not let it drop We bought a holiday home in Majorca 20 years ago we was introduced to Mapfre by the previous owners and we ve been with them ever since and had a good experience on the whole this years subscription of 358 was payed in December but we sold the apartment on 27 of June 2023 we cancelled the policy the day after thinking we would get a proportion back but we ve been advised that there won t be any refund as if you buy insurance in Spain it is for the year but I m sure I ve just read different on Mapfre web site after all this time we are really disappointed that our relation ship with Mapfre has been soured

update Today 27-3-2024 Still no reaction or answer from mapfre Why As requested 7 days ago I called Maphre I was able to tell my story and provide more explanation Haven t heard anything yet I wonder if there will be any response As I have noticed they do respond on this website Good morning Take out car insurance on August 30 2022 at the local Maphre office in Cunit had to pay first payment in cash at the office the insurance was for 1 year so I had to pay 622 which I did then maphre started debiting the same amount on September 1st was returned to my account in consultation with the office in Cunit this was repeated several times until January 2023 Booked back each time in consultation with the office employee Received a registered letter from Maphre stating that if I did not pay I would not be insured ignored in consultation with the office she assured me that everything was absolutely fine September 2023 I checked again whether my insurance was still in order everything red on the screen no insurance because I wouldn t have paid Been uninsured for 13 months If I had had any accidents I would have been bankrupt by now Since then I have been trying to get the premium I paid back It would be arranged today February 8 Received 376 02 back that is 290 20 shortfall I would have received February 28 2023 I show her that s not the case I signed for receipt under protest better than nothing I had to threaten a lawyer to get this done I am Dutch I opt for personal conversations at a local office but my confidence in this office and Maphre is completely gone and I feel ripped off 290 20 poorer and uninsured for 13 months which could have been my downfall in an accident Too bad and unnecessary Why be careful and be assisted by a Spanish resident W b c zwirs

Avoid Mapfre for home insurance
A water pressure tank burst in my home and caused damage to the electrical equipment located in the same room The incident happened in the middle of the night and as soon as we became aware of the issue we immediately contacted the Mapfre emergency telephone number They did a fantastic job of arranging a plumber to visit our home within just a few hours and within a few days after that they arranged for their assessor to come and evaluate the situation and take photos and videos The assessor completed his report and informed me that the insurance company will cover the cost of the damage However each time i email text or call my insurance broker at Mapfre she never responds to any of my communication I therefore took time out of my day to visit her at her office and because she didn t have any information she assured me that she would call me back by the end of the day However i didn t hear anything back from her Today I have sent additional emails and texts again no response from her I also called her on her mobile and she said she would call me back in 10 mins - but again nothing I have just sent yet another text message and again she has asked me for my NIE number I do not understand why in 3 weeks she has not been able to respond to my emails or provide me with any updates I have never experienced such an unprofessional service from a company representative who doesn t appear to know her arm from her elbow Based on this experience i would strongly recommend anyone reading this to look elsewhere for home insurance In response to their reply I called the number they provided last week and again today Both times they inform me that due to the amount of the claim tit has to be approved by someone else and they cannot tell me when that will be USELESS

Worst company I have ever had
The worst company I have ever had I moved out from Spain and took the car with me and canceled the car insurance All was okay they said But after taking money from my card 2 more times I had to lock my account They just say sorry and are not able to give the money back 6 month after the cancellation I gave up

english speaking branch of mapfre not really
www dot mapfre dot es insurance makes out it is english speaking branch of mapfre spain for english speaking people but it is just someone in the office who speaks good english who can do very little apart from put you on hold before passing you to the main office where if you are lucky they will find someone who speaks a little english not a good thing when you need to discuss taking insurance and signing and paying

Terrible customer service
I have gad joke and contents insurance with Mapfre for twenty years either no problems Last year claimed for a water leak from an internal damaged waste pipe which according to their booklet is covered They insisted the leak was from poor maintenance of the solarium I had the waste pipe replaced by a local builder which solved the problem Mapfre like to take your money but not pay out They sent an assessor who said it was covered and asked for the receipt for the repair to be WhatsApp to him Mapfre refused to pay The claim went on fir four months
