A dangerous service I purchased a brand-new Booster V scooter from Spain using etwow net One years later Roberto at P E T together with Tomek from Cyclecare serviced this scooter Shortly after the service the device abruptly stopped working The power cut out while moving at speed in the middle of the road in traffic It was a truly terrifying experience The seller and technical support team stated that the battery failing was unusual for a relatively new scooter with low mileage They advised opening the footplate and checking the connections inside I followed their instructions and carefully removed Roberto s silicone waterproofing sealant and unscrewed the foot plate As I peered inside I discovered the battery frayed snagged at the edges and sitting in a small pool of water Internal wires cut exposing the electrical filaments to the moisture The fuse casing split and wrapped with black Gaffer tape It was clear moisture seeping into the battery and filaments caused an electrical short and the subsequent failure of the scooter I was shocked to find the scooter in this state specially soon after Roberto s service I confronted Roberto about my discovery He was surprised I had opened the scooter footplate Roberto alleged the black tape was not his He claimed the scooter must have come out of the etwow factory like that He also suggested the seller must have upgraded it We see so many things from units from abroad you can t imagine he said and more After I questioned Roberto s claims further the communication became awkward Roberto eventually responded with an email informing me that by opening the sealed footplate my actions had voided the P E T service warrant and that it would cost more to repair the scooter I do not believe the etwow factory released a brand-new scooter waterlogged with wires cut and botched up with black tape I also do not believe etwow net are tampering with scooters and selling them on I am a mature sensible scooter rider I do not misuse my property I do not ride in the rain I have never brought this scooter in contact with water Roberto and his team were the only people who had access and opened the scooter footplate I paid for a service that left my scooter in a dangerous condition consequently placing me in harm s way The facts
