The price went up and up without any

The price went up and up without any notification Read the small print please sadly had to put my dog to sleep they said no policy covers the cost of cremation and my vet told me Petplan take a percentage of the claim if your dog lives over 8 years old I would avoid this company at all cost It s a big con

Delayed payment still waiting- do your job

After adopting our dog we changed her name The animal shelter registered the dog with the old name After an emergency we used Petplan to claim some of our vet expenses Petplan sent us a letter asking us to confirm that old name and new name belong to the same pet I replied to them 10 days ago Today I got another letter asking me to confirm the same thing The next letter I receive asking me for the same details might be directly forwarded to the onbudsman Do your job and don t waste my time Update I have received a third letter today 06 06 asking for the same information and telling me they ll close my claim if I don t respond soon -

Unreasonably high premium

I have a young medium mixed breed dog not yet 1 5 years old New potential customer obtaining a quote 149 per month for their highest level plan which cover is significantly lower than my existing plan at a fraction of this cost Lowest premium started at 89 The only reason for the extra star is because when I called with a general enquiry before getting the aforementioned quote the advisor was helpful and pleasant I m afraid for a healthy young traceable history pup their premium was just exorbitant with no logical explanation This was about a month or two ago have put in July as do not recall the exact date Edited following response below I think you may have confused me with another person I ve never had a Petplan policy I d stated above I was a potential new customer and the only quotes I obtained were online These were unbelievably high considering we live in rural Devon and my dog isn t even 17 months old fit and healthy But thank you for responding

Outrageous annual payment increases of 20

I have had Petplan insurance for my pets for the last 3 years and each year the insurance rate is going up by 20 This is well beyond inflation rates and totally unsustainable How can this be justified and is it even legal I would like to warn new joiners of these outrageous increases after the first year

Claim eventually dealt with

Claim submitted in May only just dealt with -some two months later They claim to complete most within a week or two In response to the reply from Pet Plan below they are nearly always extremely late with claims and I have been complaining about this for the last 5years Most claims are for the same tests and drugs and yet PetPlan see fit to query each and every claim and quite often they just completely deny having had a claim

I used to think that these were good value now i dont At first there was a standard excess price per year Now it a standard price plus 20 of all claims So i have put one claim in for 502 and Petplan has taken two charges totalling 200 so i get 300 absolute rip off

Great service shame about the extortionate price hikes and disinterested phone operator

I have a 2 year old husky insured with Petplan and my renewal this year has increased by 130 My dog is not old has no health issues and i rang to speak to the renewals team The operator was disinterested in negotiating a price giving me a take it or leave it attitude straight off the bat Whilst i understand Petplan do not increase costs based on claims at 130 increase every year id be broke by the time my dog is 8 years old I ve made a few minor claims in the first year of my puppies life and the service and turn around was fantastic All in all great service shame about the extortionate price hikes and disinterested phone operator

despite the advertising blurb that

despite the advertising blurb that states most claims are settled within 5 working days our claim has taken 1 month to settle and this after being told there were no issues with the claim It took 2 lengthy phone calls and requests for updates to reach this point and even though they have settled the claim I still have to wait up to 5 days for the bank transfer

I cannot fault Petplan on their

I cannot fault Petplan on their service been with them for many years Whilst I appreciate the cost of the insurance goes up every year the increase of over 100 for my 2 year old dog well over inflation is not good especially as people are being hit by above inflation increases on other bills yet no increase in wage

It took far too long for you to deal with this claim and your explanation as to the amount paid is unhelpful as lacks any transparency
