We find our monthly payments very expensive however we have used pet plan since our first dog Always efficient and helpful

the paperwork was easy to complete and the claim was sorted and paid within an approximate time scale Petplan kept me informed of any delays and processed the claim accordingly

Good insurance cover for peace of mind

It s easy to claim and I am happy my pet is covered for his ongoing treatment A few years ago at start of Covid there were some big delays but now it s very quick to organise claims

This is the best- can do better

This is the best I am told for pet cover and fast in payment however I do have a point of order They often change the excess on their policy This is annoying to find out when you submit a claim PP know when the birth anniversary is Surely can they not send out an email on the anniversary to notify of change Furthermore unknown our cat is now ten and a half At 10 years old the remaining cost after the excess is removed takes a further 20 off Again this could easily be notified at anniversary C mon PP you can do better this costs nothing and is better than finding out by the back door I still have not found where on the policy that it says a further 20 will be taken Please do tell me PS you don t answer emails quickly

I submitted a claim on 20 02 23 and was advised that it was with the vet for verification W c 20 03 23 I sent an e-mail asking what was the status of the claim On 24 03 23 the claim was settled in full I don t know where the delay was but feel that if it wasn t for my follow-up e-mail I would still be waiting If the problem is with the vet coming back to PetPlan I hope PetPlan chase up with additional emails and are not waiting on prompting from the client

It s a safety-net

I got my rescue-greyhound after my wife died Vet s fees are horrifying so it s nice to have safety-net of PetPlan cover to support me when things go wrong

Pet plan have been great whilst I ve had a poorly pooch dealing directly with the vet There is one thing I am a little disappointed with hence the 4 stars My boy now needs a special diet which is not covered The amount I pay each month and the level of cover I get could have covered the cost My boy is now palliative and I would have liked to have thought that we would be supported with this Otherwise really pleased with claim time and the fact they deal directly with the vet leaving me to support my pooch

Their response to my claim was quick and painless I also appreciate that they insure older animals Also appreciated are their regular emails with regard to health and safety information I have learned quite a bit and have recommended Petplan to friends

It s an upmarket policy but it s worth it

I was at first wary of spending almost 30 per month for my cats policy However as of right now I m relieved I do Our cat we adopted as a stray unfortunately suffers with many pre-existing conditions and we wanted a decent insurer who was upfront about what couldn t be claimed for So far Petplan have done just that I m so glad I took the plunge as our wee cat became very unwell 2 months after taking out the policy racking up vet fees of almost 1000 Petplan received my claim only days ago and have confirmed this has been fully approved Only reason for 4 stars is that the money is not yet refunded to our vets not their fault it s only just been approved The process has been easy so far and it s refreshing to deal with such a compassionate and friendly insurer after having a negative experience elsewhere with a different family pet
