Entered Shorne Country Park in Kent as a emergency stop with my severely autistic son He was in pain and as he is non verbal his way of communicating is via challenging behaviour lashing at people screaming and he is and adult XL size We were on A2 heading to London when he started to scream in the car hitting window I got of the A2 and the first thing I saw is Shorne Country Park I drove into their car park displayed Blue Badge and run to the toilet with my son to deal with his medical issue We then returned to the car and drove off total 40 min Yes the signage was there but when you deal with challenging behaviour your focus in on safety of my son and member of public and looking for signs and the change to purchase the ticket is not an option I then received parking ticked I of course appealed to POPLA as this was emergency stop I spoke to some ladies on the phone and they were mega polite and understanding Reading reviews here I had no hope to win this but I did and I am very grateful for understanding

When the spivs at parking Eye wanted to
When the spivs at parking Eye wanted to charge a friend of mine 60 for being in a car park for 6 minutes whilst trying and failing to buy a ticket popla came to our rescue Parking Eye could not even be bothered to send the correct photographs of the car park to the appeal which just goes to show their high handed arrogance Nice to say they received a good old dose of common sense from the popla people just hope it s true this has cost parking Eye Very happy thank you

Very fair very thorough very good experience
I wanted to write a review because I know that appealing a parking ticket can be scary and a lot of companies bully you into paying up and not appealing Also most reviews here are pretty poor so I wanted to let people know about my experience I appealed to popla because the car parking company I used were saying I hadnt registered my vehicle when I parked while using a hotel The hotels tablet was broken so I could not register my vehicle The car parking company Capital car parks rejected my first appeal so I appealed to popla no way was I paying 60 or 100 for a fault between the hotel and the car parking operator I appealed and three and a half weeks later popla came back with their decision and my appeal was successful based on the fact that they said the reason capital gave for the PCN was ambiguous That wasnt even the reason I appealed but popla clearly look into everything and not just the reasons you give as to why you re appealing so even if you re worried that they will side with the car park operator if you have a valid reason to appeal then its definitely worth it I would say they were very thorough and were completely impartial I would definitely recommend appealing if you genuinely believe you didnt commit an offence

Thank you POPLA for overturning my
Thank you POPLA for overturning my parking charge Where the parking charge company reject an appeal which POPLA subsequently overturn there needs to be a mechanism whereby APCOA and others are liable for a compensation charge for incorrectly issuing a penalty charge and incorrectly rejecting a legitimate appeal Without this consequence they will continue to reject legitimate appeals with impunity They have no skin in the game and are free to frighten innocent people with their threatening correspondence I will be writing to my MP but I won t be holding my breath

Credit where it is due
Looking at the rest of the reviews I was a bit dubious about using POPLA but as I am from Scotland I have no real experience of parking issues like this I went ahead The review in question was decided in my favour partly due to the parking company failing to offer a low settlement So I will give them credit for that

POPLA found in my favour but were slow
POPLA found in my favour but it took them 2 weeks longer than their maximum timescale of 4 weeks to do so Thank you for getting the decision right but please speed up your process as I found the extra long wait extremely stressful

A challenge to digital bullying
Just the existence of this facility is encouraging Errors in issuing parking fines are commonplace now and much harder to challenge digitally Using POPLA I was actually able to speak to a person on the phone Parking Eye and probably others are able to dismiss motorists way too easily they must be challenged

Sorted 2 unjust parking fines from Parking Eye
Parked in a Parking Eye car park twice Received 100 fines for both parking episodes 200 total with Parking Eye accusing me of not paying for parking despite me having used their parking app and Apple Pay Appealed to Parking Eye as a days parking was paid each time for roughly 90 minutes parking Parking Eye said they didn t use the parking app despite their being 8 or 9 signs around the car park saying to use the app Appealed to POPLA providing proof of payments made to Parking Eye and with a photograph of the signs saying to use the online app to pay for parking Took about 6 weeks for POPLA to get back to me Today I learned that I didn t have to pay the 2 x 100 fines Thank you POPLA
