In Canada you can reserve a ticket with Rail Ninja just as you can for VIA Rail Canada but the prices are 43 percent higher I immediately asked for a refund lost 50 or 21 percent Check carefully what added service Rail Ninja provides over the rail service itself Note that Rail Ninja has replied to my note on the services they provide to help you decide who to use

A frustrating booking experience

Booking was a frustrating experience After completing what I believed was a successful booking and making a payment an email arrived to inform me that the required train was not available I was offered an alternative or a refund After accepting a refund I tried another train and the same thing happened again Both trains are still being advertised as available on the website

Difficult to make changes even with premium fare

Easy to book tickets HOWEVER we tried to change the departure time for our first class tickets we were not allowed to do that At the time of booking we were advised that no changes could be made within 12 hours of departure however our request was well before that Got no response from the customer service contact we attempted

BEWARE

BEWARE YOU CAN T CHANGE YOUR TICKETS So I booked two advance first class tickets from Kings Cross to York not realizing by are non-changeable or non-refundable I was mistaken on the travel date completely my fault and emailed them to change the date booked Sept 7 instead of Sept 8 They said they can t because the carrier already assigned the tickets So I called London North Eastern Railway on my tickets who said they had never heart of Rail Ninja and couldn t help me because they are not affiliated with any rail lines So I m stuck in the middle with 200 worth of tickets I can t use Anyone want to buy

Overpriced don t use

The ticket was simple enough to book but that was the only positive Minutes later I found out the price was nearly double what I could get the ticket for through normal channels I canceled my ticket immediately and despite being over 10 days out from the date of the ticket I was only refunded 80 The whole system is a complete ripoff and I will never use rail ninja again and will advise everyone else to avoid it as well

Unexpected travel change

The booked ticket for my travel outbound was a day after I booked changed to impossible times and dates from 10 hours travel during the day to more than 14 hours in the night The only option was cancelling that ticket But I could only cancel the whole ticket outbound return and had to rebook my return ticket What a nuissance

Way overpriced

The site is easy to use and the tickets we booked got us from Lisbon to Lagos no problem On the way home however we booked return tickets at the train station instead and realised that Rail Ninja had charged us more than double the going rate for tickets

Not a happy customer

I trusted RailNinja with seat selection and paid the price They had to be the worst seats in the train and the window seat I asked for had no window Emails prior to the trip were not answered Do yourself a favor and book on your own doing your own research instead of trusting a third party We are not accustomed to rail travel in Europe but I will not use RailNinja again

Given a less convenient departure station

I recently booked a first class ticket from Lisbon to Porto It wasn t until I received the ticket that I realized it s not from the main Lisbon station This is less convenient for me Also if I was departing from the main station as a first class ticket holder I could use the first class lounge The booking engine only asks for departure city not a specific station I won t use Rail Ninja next time

Semi-flexible with what choices

Online ticket with request for window seat - facing each other - face forward Of the three requests both of us facing backwards one aside the other and between windows One thing is a semi-flexible fare another is not being able to satisfy NOT ONE single request with prior booking Choices should be real and if not met a third more convenient fare should be an option for the passengers
