I had 3 experience drives in a novelty

I had 3 experience drives in a novelty car supra and lambo as well as a ride along with professional driver at the Aldershot venue The positives were the first two instructors were very good and the ride along was a lot more fun than I had anticipated The negatives were the track was full of pot holes and the 3rd instructor was very frustrating as she was overly cautious to the point the drive was unenjoyable Appreciate it was a rainy day but I was barely able to get out of second gear before she would eagerly apply the brake pedal

Everything was great

Everything was great until I found out the package advertised and bought by me was not quite what I was told it would be I got spa day for my boyfriend s birthday originally it said I could have either all morning or all afternoon but what I got was only one hour access to the spa it was an expensive gift for what it actually was at the end

A long wait

We redeemed our voucher at Patisserie Valerie at the Swindon Outlet The drinks were served quickly then we had to wait 50 minutes for the food which was ok but nothing special We had finished our drinks by then so asked for more which were provided eventually Not the best experience

No cheese Grommit

We had a gift of a Cheese and Wine tasting Winery Tour The day was well-organised and the wine tour and tasting was an enjoyable and interesting experience But there was no cheese and there was no explanation from the on-site staff Very disappointing I would probably have awarded 5 stars if the cheese aspect met the high standards of the rest of the day but with no cheese I think 3 stars is quite high enough Edit A rather weak response by Red Letter Days to my initial review which doesn t suggest that they really care very much The response is the equivalent of a standard sentence from a pick list Disappointed now that I was so generous with the 3 stars

Disappointed the hotel cancelled our booking

We booked a few weeks before over the phone for Subday 10th March - gave all our voucher codes and got email comfirmation A couple of weeks later I was contacted by email to say that as it was Mother s Day we would have to pay an extra 10 each We weren t told this at the time of booking We were not prepared to pay the extra 60 so the booking was cancelled As this was the hotels error I think they should have informed us but honoured the booking It caused us many reorganisation issues to get us all together for the next weekend we would not have been able to use the vouchers later in the year due to other commitments Parking in the hotel was very convenient and as such we would possibly come again The food was good quality and overall we all enjoyed the experience I would not say the hotel was 5 star more like 4 The toilets had paper on the floor and needed cleaning

The staff at Mercure Hotel were helpful and friendly but the spa could do with updating

The staff at Mercure Hotel Sheffield were all very friendly and helpful Our treatments were also very relaxing and calming The pool area remains well kept and calming However we felt that the spa facilities are in need of an update They seemed very tired and lacking tlc The spinner for the swimming costumes was out of order all afternoon and the shower facilities although very nice could have been checked on a more regular basis - there were clumps of hair in all the drain areas in the showers The hotel slippers provided were next to useless once you had been in the spa as they became very wet Flipflops would have been better or nothing at all provided rather advising clients to bring their own flipflops I was very aware of the possibility of slipping around the spa and pool areas

Been unable to take the glider flight

Been unable to take the glider flight as twice cancelled due to weather Also company closing at the end of this week Of which we were unaware of when taking out the booking

The drive itself very good and with an excellent instructor However it felt quite chaotic not knowing what was going on In briefing didn t know which track being shown to concentrate on so ask if you are unsure The track is small Was quite disappointed on cars Two Supercars were booked the second wasn t available so chose another Confirmed that when I arrived too Then whilst also confirmed on the day the first car wasn t available and never was Just to add to it then the second car choice was never available So intended cars as well as second choices never available You need to he flexible and for me only boiled down to 2 cars to choose from and one of those I consider a normal albeit expensive street car However having said that I would go again OR look for a bigger track somewhere

Enjoyable 1 5 hour stroll around the exhibition and a nice cup of coffee to finish There are inevitably gaps in the makes models range eg 50 s Issigonis Morris Major Oxford Triumph Mayflower Renown Vauxhall Wyvern Velox Daimler SP250 Jag Mk 5 7 9 60 s Original Ford Classic Capri Rover 3 3 5 litre saloon Jag Mk 2 3 S Type Mk10 Lotus Elan LW Base Elan 130 However I did learn more about the microcars and the ancient but historically important eg Austins and there was a good range of Rootes cars Obviously a larger collection of owned lent stored cars would provide an opportunity for any excess of similar models of the same make eg Fiesta to be pruned out Money and Value for Money are important but the prepaid price of 16 was a bit higher than I was expecting Another idea would - space always permitting - be to have the workshop area showing work in progress for owners cars For winter visitors an area for mid-exotic Brit cars eg TVR later Lotus in storage Keep up the good work and try and get income balance more geared to visitor numbers storage and workshop fees than entry prices Yes I am a bit tight
