Superb Seabourn cruise very badly messed up

Superb Seabourn cruise very badly messed up by Six Star Cruises and their delegated suppliers who we found when our tickets arrived were not Seabourn When our travel companions could not travel due to emergency surgery days before travel they advised Six Star Cruises of the situation out of courtesy Even though our travel companions received no refund from Six Star Six Star sought to optimise their profit by cancelling our companion s pre-cruise hotel stay Something got lost in translation and we landed in Barbados to find our own room cancelled as well and the hotel fully booked That aside we had thought our transfers and hotel were all through Seabourn but they were in fact of substantially lesser quality and poorly thought through For example Six Star had arranged for us to be picked up at the hotel at 5 00pm when all aboard was at 5 00pm We re-arranged this the previous day ourselves and were of course entitled to have lunch on board Six Star did not have a 24 hour 7 day service and we were stranded and left to re-arrange things ourselves and we found Six Star Cruises singularly unapologetic and wholly un-remorseful on our return home Sorry but this is a two star travel agency

Following earlier review have been told that six star will not honour lowest price guarantee as the cruise line Regent will not agree So lowest price guarantee is quite meaningless

Avoid

Booked a cruise and paid deposit Then found I couldn t obtain reasonable travel insurance for the countries on itinerary Phoned only two hours after booking to cancel Told I would lose ALL of our deposit or 250 if we booked another cruise with Regent Frightened into booking alternative cruise with Regent In the end no deposit lost but a salutary experience The concierge has been as helpful as she could have been But would not book through Six Star again Also they have not been willing to honour the lowest price guarantee

As sixstar we ll know I pointed out the lower fare on other sites at the time of booking but they claimed this must be without flights I told them it was flight inclusive but the lowest price they offered was 100 or so higher I was committed to using sixstar so had to accept that

Melissa Jones was not very much help I said that I needed help but she seemed rather to ignore me she was always so busy so we did not connect but anybody else that I spoke with were extremely helpful

We have used Sixstar Cruises for many

We have used Sixstar Cruises for many years but it is clear the service is deteriorating We have booked a cruise to Japan in April 2023 but we were not told about the date for booking excursions so we have been unable to book those we would like Also we wanted business class flights but Laura Wing did not follow this up I asked in October 2020 and all the flights were booked Very disappointed We will not use them in the future

Very poor communication

After writing four times I get no replies despite having a cruise booked It seems the sales team are very good but concierge means very little I have booked with them several times and past experience was good I guess this is a sign of the times So I ve had a reply that says the person was off sick and had accumulated one hundred mails from other people who hadn t been informed of the situation The other person had left the company so I wonder how many mails they had accumulated without reply This was all seen as an acceptable reason I m not reassured

Could have been much better

Just returned from an amazing cruise I have to say that the experience was absolutely amazing but sadly it wasn t down to Sixstarcruises We booked with them because we expected the perfect package to be put together and with hindsight we wish we had sorted it ourselves here s why They were really keen to get us to book this new cruise ship experience so much so that the flights weren t even on sale and the initial booking was great and smooth We took a risk and booked and was promised a call the minute the flights went on sale to give us the best options This didn t happen and we chased and chased again and eventually managed to book some flights not great ones though The options weren t the best and again with hindsight we would have done it different and would have expected the agent to advise us properly on the best route options flight times and seat upgrade options We were given a flight that was later changed to a different airport and the transfer which we were told would be fine and nothing to worry about but it was awful Our flight was delayed we had to queue for an hour at security and had we not gone premium we would have been at the back of the queue and missed the connection We had to collect our luggage and go to the new drop off and then find the gate which was wrongly displayed we almost missed it I would have rather had a direct flight or flown from London if no direct flights were available but this was never suggested to make the experience better Even security could not understand why we were changing in Orlando to get to Miami and scrutinised us thoroughly which was not pleasant The flight home was at 10pm and we were disaembarked from the ship at 8am They never suggested that we could have stayed at a hotel to get a better flight the next day and provide transfers or even a day pass at a hotel which many other guests seemed to know about or have included because their agent told them about it We thankfully made our own arrangements for the day and sorted our own transport which should have all been provided No information about things like ESTAs was given but thankfully we worked it all out ourselves as we had done it before We had log in issues with the cruise website and kept getting a message saying it had not been paid when it had It took over a month to get this sorted with lots of chasing and we were unable to view and book excursions through the cruise website and missed out on ones with limited availability due to this No suggestions on excursions or locations we were visiting were given and whilst most places were fantastic some were not because we felt unsafe walking around and were harassed so much we went back to the ship No advice around these destinations was given and no suggestions on what to do or not to do was provided I would have expected this from Sixstarcruises as our booking agent but in our experience they don t deal with the extras that make the journey less stressful and a better experience Information provided by the cruise company was also limited and we have given feedback on this but they are new We did have an amazing holiday but we won t be using an agent in future because the best package was not sold to us in our opinion and we were underwhelmed overall by the booking experience and our package could have been so much better more complete and less stressful

I wouagain ldn t use Cruise 118 again

I booked my Cruise with Laura who was lovely She was very helpful Sadly I used the general number later when I had Need more clarity with costs Not kept informed about changes had to chase things ourselves unacceptable waiting times on the phone but cannot fault staff on the phones always very helpful but did not follow through with promised call backs and emails With just over a week to go we couldn t find our flight info on the airline website Rang 118 who said they would contact Celebrity and ring us back After 3 days with no callback we rang again to be told our flights were cancelled and given new flight details So if we hadn t rang when would we have been told about our flight
