Didn t send correct denominations

The USD I ordered came exactly on time However The Currency Club was more expensive than other options which I choose ONLY because they allow you to specify denominations that you need I m traveling to Cuba and needed as many 1USD singles as possible therefore I chose their small denomination option which should have included 1 5 10 20 bills Literally the only reason I chose to use this company was to get as many 1usd singles for tips as possible However the cash arrived with no singles at all Therefore I overpaid for the currency and didn t get what I ordered Frustrating

Too many large denomination notes

We bought 400 of US dollars from the Currency Club last week We did not specify what denomination of notes we wanted but it was still a surprise to find 300 of the 400 turned up in 3 x 100 notes For holiday money these will be all but unspendable We did message the Currency Club as soon as the money turned up to ask if they could do anything to help and did not even get the courtesy of a response Moral of the story - if you do not want large denomination bills make sure you specify that rather than as we did no preference

The rate was good but interest from firm was unempathetic

The rate was good but ordered this on a weekend However pleased to get the email on Monday telling me it would be delivered on Tuesday This did not happen and I emailed twice and phoned once the response being if it doesn t make it on time it ll just get there later or you could just run down to your local post office and collect it No apologies Royal Mail were delivering and had attempted delivery on Wednesday after 1pm I requested a Friday delivery and consequently they attempted delivery on the Thursday then sent me an email saying I would have to pick it up as they had already attempted 2 deliveries As it was the postie just popped it through my letterbox signing it himself ring doorbell Maybe The Currency Club should ask for better but it seems they are happy not to rock the boat On a positive I did get the best rate available for my options Would I use them in future possibly but it would have to be when I have all the time in the world to wait

Denominations of notes

Order arrived on time but it is waste of time asking for alternative note denominations I asked for mixed but all notes supplied were large Don t tell me that it depends on stock as i ordered US dollars so won t accept that as an excuse They send you the easiest quickest notes to count out

Poor first impression

I purchased currency on a Saturday and immediately followed this with a bank transfer as their integrated method did not list my bank as an option On the Monday morning I received a curt email telling me my order was cancelled and I would be charged a 20 fee because I had not paid by 4pm on the same day I pointed out that even though I had set-up the bank transfer banks do not usually move funds until the next working day which was the Monday This appeared to calm them down and common sense prevailed I received my currency on time

A mixed experience

When I followed advice to use the company to buy currency I thought the website worked well However I wasn t aware that there are different ways to buy and I ended up not buying travel money It wasn t clear on the website that I was buying the wrong thing However as I realised my mistake the company phoned me and offered to sort out the problem resolving it very quickly and easily So the website could be much clearer but the service afterwards was excellent hence 3 stars

Order 2 currencies

Order 2 currencies inc 200 US they sent 2 x 100 notes NOT IDEAL Have used them in thepast and split the denominations across the board

Big denominations

OK rates are good delivery was bang on time I asked for small denomination but got 3 notes each of which is the equivalent of 107 Could be tricky handing that over for a local taxi ride Surely they can do better particularly if there s an option to have small medium large

Good company but do not expect to receive small notes

I have used The Currency Club several times and although the website ordering and delivery are good I have on 2 occasions requested small denomination notes and been sent large denomination notes Customer service advised that I return the notes at my own cost or visit a sister office in London to exchange the notes Neither option was possible or acceptable

This past week I ve used Currency Club

This past week I ve used Currency Club for the first time to order travel money after seeing them listed on Money Saving Expert website I have found their service to be very efficient from ordering through to delivery Although I did need to enter my address manually when registering as the find address function came up with completely different incorrect addresses for my correct postcode The only downside which means I can t give five stars was the quality of a few of the bills with some ripped or damaged in other ways Quality controls could be improved at this stage The more you order the better the exchange rate and there are no additional transaction fees I had previously successfully used TravelFX but when I compared the rates for my first transaction with Currency Club on this occasion Currency Club was almost 1 better
