Good upfront service Poor aftercare

Good exchange rates and the ordering process was good The currency arrived in the post really quickly It was while I was on holiday that it was noticed in amongst my Canadian Dollars was a bunch of New Zealand Dollars I contacted TCC straight away but they couldn t or wouldn t post the correct currency to me in Canada so I felt a little stranded and short of cash on my holiday and of course they were more concerned about getting the New Zealand Dollars back before they would rectify their error I returned home posted the incorrect currency back to them and they promptly paid me back Disappointed with the aftercare service and if anyone is ordering currency from them please carefully check all notes to ensure they are correct before you get on the plane

Didn t fulfill request

Easy to use website Good conversion rate Quick delivery However I asked to mixed notes and for all 50 euro notes and two 20 euro notes I wrote to complain to be simply told that s all we had I don t believe this for one minute and very shocked at a response that cannot be true It s a currency exchange and not like I was asking for an unusual currency

Select low denomination for the bills

Ordered denomination mixed for 480 and received 4 x 100 bills Shops hate them it s so hard to break them when away don t bother asking if you aren t going to send a mix

Disappointed

Having used the Currency Club for many years this is the first time I have been disappointed Like many others I primarily use them because of the small denomination option I ordered 650 of euros in small denominations received fourteen 50 notes and a few 5s When I queried it I was told I asked for mixed I sent a screenshot showing small on my order they then backtracked said only mixed was available when I placed my order Obviously mixed means purely 50s 5s I was advised I could swap them for small at their sister company Sterling fx Excellent except you have to go in person it s a 700-mile round trip for me If they are unable to fulfil your requirements they should advise you before you complete your order I know it s not a huge problem but I was asked to post an honest review of my experience

Problems with delivery and communication

Ordering was simple but delivery was a day late and affected my plans That was apparently caused by Royal Mail I have contacted Currency Club by email over the past 2 days but have had no reply This is very disappointing and there is no phone number to call So I probably won t use them next time

All good except I received the wrong notes

Placing my order was easy and the communication was fine The delivery came in line with what was promised On the negative side I asked for SMALL denomination notes in particular I asked for 1 and 5 bills I received a tiny number of 10 s and the rest in 20 s We are going on a long trip and these will be used to give a small tip to a large number of people These notes are too big I now have a big job on my hands to try and get them changed

Made a costly mistake

I went onto this website to obtain some Euros for my forthcoming holiday I thought I had filled in the details correctly but received a telephone call a few days later advising me that I had made an international money transfer instead I don t know how this happened as I followed the instructions but the process ended up costing me more money and the resultant deal was disappointing

Quote not honoured

I sold back currency and got a quote When I went to post the currency that afternoon I was informed that there was a postal strike over the next 2 days Anyway I sent the currency by expensive special delivery but it didn t arrive until 3 days later by which time the exchange rates had moved My original quote was not honoured so I lost about 12 from my first quote through no fault of my own Currency Club is an expensive buy back operation anyway and this made it much worse NB they replied with excuses and they couldn t care less I think 3 stars is generous
