Use your psychic powers to know if they send acceptable notes

Easy to order and happy until 5 of the 100 bills I d received were declined in Africa for being too old out of date The company say all their notes are legal and I should have told them of any specific requirements what that I only want notes I can actually use Rather than have to withdraw extra at an atm at great expense and be left with unusable cash Despite an email exchange with customer service they have not helped resolve this- unless I travel to London to exchange the notes or pay 12 to have them exchanged by post Won t be using again nor recommending How customer service deals with issues is a stronger indication of a company than when things go well

Satisfied in certain areas the Currency club give an

Even though the Currency club give a good exchange rate and quick delivery I must just mention the quality of some of the notes I exchanged sterling for US dollars and Sri Lanka rupees The dollars are fine but a number of the rupee s notes were in a very worn state Some had been wrote on and some were stained and dirty I emailed the Currency club and they have assured me that they will be fine to spend them once I m in Sri Lanka of course this remains to be seen I ve had experience before of soiled notes abroad which were also provided by the currency club that were not excepted by retailers Also I was one thousand rupee s short which I also flagged up but was told by email that the count was correct I counted them three time s and I m still a thousand short but hey ho it s only 2 50 in sterling so I m not that bothered I will probably use the Currency club again the future despite the issues I have had

Ensure you pick small denominations

Ensure you pick small denominations othewise totally useless service I tried to place order yesterday and it timed out before i had completed it I rushed through the second time and got the order confirmed As soon as I spotted the email confirming payment 30 mins after it was sent I noticed I hadnt selected small denominations on the 2nd attempt I tried calling helpline which was essentially a voicemail telling me to email I emailed and received an email 4 1 2 hours later saying it was too late as order processed Currency just arrived which fair play was next day but given the values sent is pretty useless Ordered 44k Thai Baht - arrived as 40 x 1k notes and 8 x 500 For context the price of a basic meal according to google is 90-150 baht Appreciate the system technically had no preference but come on - clearly no rationale applied at all Won t use again

I ordered Turkish Lira was very quick

I ordered Turkish Lira was very quick delivery but I was sent 300 TRY less than I should have got which I then had to email to sort out and they investigated quickly but I now have to send my bank details to get a refund in English if I wanted English I wouldn t have ordered and paid for Lira TRY

Seemed an efficient service until it arrived

Was a bit dubious with the process for payment but due to the good rate and seemingly efficient service and good reviews went ahead Very disappointed to have received my money today in pretty much ALL 100 dollar bills Have read that a lot of places in NY wont accept a 100 bill so that s concerning seeing as we are stuck with them now Will not use again will return to picking up in person albeit perhaps for not as good of a rate

Beware

Beware there s no customer support I paid via bank transfer over 1 hour ago My bank app shows that the transfer was complete but the website is still waiting for payment There s no phone number to call The help section is just an FAQ I hope that I didn t just lose my money

Disappointing

I ve used Currency Club before without any issues This time in a small bundle of Euros I received 100 euro notes They can quote their T Cs at me all they like but I can t get many shops to accept 50 s in this country so god knows how I m going to get rid of 100s s in Portugal I always ask for small denominations and I d rather they contacted me to offer me the chance to wait until small notes were available They also use Royal Mail who diabolically delivered the Special delivery package to the wrong address Good job I don t need the currency urgently You might say this isn t their fault but they chose the courier

First time using the currency club - Let down

First time using the currency club Process was relatively simple Delivery was on the day that I paid for BUT I requested small denominations and while I am aware they don t guarantee it its pretty clear on this occasion they didn t even try So now I am going to have to find somewhere that can change these notes up into smaller ones before our holiday Won t use again
