Most disappointing experience in

Most disappointing experience in education I have ever experienced More than 90 days after being accepted and completing orientation I am still waiting to begin classes and have my financial aid released Save yourself the headache and go to a real university The degree on the wall will be worth much more UPDATE After 3 months of promises and jumping through hoops WGU dismissed me from my program Ironically with 5 Master s degrees under my belt all from Tier-Level universities I find WGU an absolute disgrace and waste of time Do not bother with them There are much better options available UPDATE The response from WGU is humorous as it is their Student Services Department that failed completely to do their job and provide an aspiring teacher with the certification needed

Sever Lack of Communication Terrible Admissions Experience

Admissions and Transcript team would not even reply to my email I am veteran that was seeking a BS of IT WGU using VR E but I am pursuing my associates else where first I needed to see which courses would transfer credits to complete my plan with the VA but after asking them to review my associates degree plan from this other school which I conveniently gave them a word doc with the entire course names codes and full descriptions of they refused to acknowledge me Its been over a week since the first request and now this week they haven t even responded to my follow up over 3 days ago now Also was told by admissions that I would be called and followed up with 2 days ago and never was to confirm receipt of my course evaluations to determine transferability If this is how they ghost and treat their future students I would assume they treat their current students even worse Stay away

This school doesn t care about its students Evaluators grading the course like it s a master level Instructors not respecting hearing issues and insisting on phone calls I explained the help would best be for me in writing but they don t want to do that They want to make a video I m not going to watch it I asked for my revision assistance to be typed out so I can have it to refer to No respect for learning style It s their way or the highway They want to force you into how they want things done not how best they can help you work with you

The most annoying school They won t leave you alone Always calling to discuss goals Leave me alone I paid for six months but if I don t respond weekly to these annoying people they will withdraw you oh and you can t transfer credits Scam

A very dumb and uneducated program

A very dumb and uneducated program A student can be given a paper to write The paper can have 10 parts and the student can do a 100 in 9 of the sections and 60 in the 10th They still send the paper back At some point you are impacting what the student remembers and retains This is a proven fact proven by studies I get competency learning but competency learning is not so post to be like this This is dumb and who ever came up with this needs to look in the mirror and ask why they do what they do because they should never work in education

Mentors are the worst

WGU is an awful school because of one thing the mentors These people have no respect for others and provide absolutely no value For a school that should be for self learners they will nag you constantly speak to you in a condescending manner and take your peace away If I set a goal I achieve it and I can manage myself If you go to WGU you will have no peace save yourself and take your money elsewhere

Attempted AGAIN to get my Master s completed with them They refused to submit the required paperwork by the deadlines for MONTHS for me to get the financial assistance at my workplace The site rarely ever worked often rejected my password said I was not even found I paid for and submitted everything including my transcripts I think I had 5 advisors since I had started the process Shane Aubrie Shaun Stephen Alex Plus as soon as you enter ANYTHING on their site you get a million calls and spam all automated garbage

Be proactive and beware

There was a big layoff during my semester resulting in huge amounts of delays and miscommunications I lost several instructors and my trusted mentor with little to no notice I ended up paying for an additional semester due to the delays in creating new schedules and lack of availability It was also a nightmare to get my clinicalPlacement approved and impossible to get in touch with anyone in the health placement offices

I ve hated everything about this

I ve hated everything about this school I ve been insulted by proctor staff who called me stupid after they made a mistake with their own technology The school claims they record everything but deleted the file after ignoring me for several days about the issue They actively work to erase evidence and conceal problems to work against students The school is racist and thinks it s appropriate to refer to black students as ebony They regularly ignore correspondence addressing concerns and third formal complaints process does nothing I have been working with a federal attorney Everyone from the dean to ombuds to my mentor have been useless Also mentors will harass you when you re busy or try to establish boundaries until you have an actual problem I hate this school and the faculty all are terrible

They are unresponsive and do not care

They are unresponsive and not driven for student success I enrolled and accelerated through my courses to earn my degree and become a teacher in Pennsylvania only to have employers in Pa not recognize WGU as an accredited University As it came time for me to student teach they were unresponsive and unwilling to help me The coordinator that was supposed to help me lied to me said she notified my host school but did not and when I tried to explain that to WGU they just told me I am not allowed to contact my host school However if I did not contact them I would never known that she lied to me The contact person that WGU had on file left my host district almost 4 years ago and I only learned this because I had to schedule a phone appointment with my coordinator I gave them the correct information and they disregarded me and did not respond to my attempts to help STAY AWAY from this university if you want to complete your teaching degree because the Field Experience team is not honest
