Don t sign up with WGU expecting a 100

Don t sign up with WGU expecting a 100 online experience They will require you to spend more time on the phone talking to advisors and instructors instead of online learning If you don t answer their calls WGU will mark you inactive and drop your enrollment

Tasks that are assigned for each class

Tasks that are assigned for each class are very hard to understand as sometimes the instructions are unclear and sometimes different depending on where you look on the course website It is very hard to do this online It s the nature of the beast but the unclear directions make it very hard

Not an online only university More like Online and Phone university

Beware they will require you to be on the phone with them all the time For being an online school I think I spend more time online with the course instructors and program mentors They call at all times of the days and don t stop even if you ask them not to call and email

MS CyberSecurity bogus material

MS CyberSecurity bogus material unhelpful instructors Material generally 15-20 years old and mostly teach material useless in today s business world in some cases actually just flat out wrong Course instructors provide no instructions Some are helpful most are not Program mentors are helpful and friendly and act as your project manager only able to offer typical project management support

WGU is not properly equipped to deal

WGU is not properly equipped to deal with the regulatory system of the state of California and as a result I was left with 6 weeks to complete a course that I was told takes the average student 8 weeks to perform I asked for the full 8 weeks and was told I was at fault because I live in California If WGU can not properly operate in California WGU should stop offering it s program in California I will not recommend the program to any California students

Unprofessional everyone drops the ball until you go play somewhere else

I just earned my BA and am trying to apply for my MEd However the enrollment specialist missed our appointment along with several other people I wished to speak with I emailed enrollment to try to switch to a more professional person and they didn t respond either I won t beg you to take my money so now I m considering other opportunities The school dropped the ball a few times during my first enrollment but this is ridiculous

Difficult if you are not young

This program is difficult if you are not young I am good with technology but WGU had me pulling out my hair Most professors did not have convenient hours and did not want to listen to questions I also had three advisors throughout the process and they are also overwhelmed If you are an independent student and can figure out how to pass exams this is the program for you

Hard time finding a job after graduating

The college was good to attend if you need flexible classes But I have been done since July of 2019 with a MSN in Nursing education and I am having a hard time finding a a job in my field I have applied for numerous jobs at WGU in the nursing department but I have never heard back I find that extremely frustrating because you would think the school would want to support people that went there
A

It was not the experience I thought it

It was not the experience I thought it would be Most of my nursing courses didn t have any lectures Just a virtual book and course instructors who say they have no clue what s on the test Not quite sure what the instructors get paid for The lack of communication is awful Most of my clinicals were virtual My graduation was changed to virtual and it was never communicated on dates or deadlines so I didn t even get to participate in my graduation Money would have been much better spent on a university that provides lectures clinicals and has an actual graduation
