Fairly good service but there was a bit of transition and revolving door with our assigned bookkeeping team so some explanation and processes were redundant

I was a little disappointed
I was a little disappointed 1 Many of my accounts do not play nice with their automated systems so I have to do the work myself each month of sending them statements 2 There have been errors in the accounting that I caught that I would think they would have caught first Classification errors are normal and that s not what I mean I mean missing transactions that were on the bank statement numbers entered wrong entered twice or mixing up credits with debits 3 When Ebay changed their manner of handling and reporting my sales revenue fees and taxes Bench did not understand the new system correctly and it seemed inordinately difficult to get them to understand correctly On the plus said they are nice people and very accessible and I think we got to a good set of books in the end It was just more work for me than I had hoped I am going to try somebody else

Not signing up again
The start-up process was great However the monthly product and communication fell short of expectations Once understanding better what they do I could have done the service on my own I will not be signing up for another year

Reactive and not Proactive
It has been three months and I have not gotten any monthly reports yet They are very reactive versus proactive I had to ask many times on an ETA and they would come back with questions I d answer them within a few hours and not hear back for weeks The verdict is still out whether or not I would recommend this service

My agent Shahrad is great -- very helpful and responsive But the service in general needs a slightly more hands-on aspect to bring the value of its bookkeeping to a higher level for a small company like ours to put the various outputs in context and allow us to take full advantage of the platform

I like the service but really slow to provide information and communication non answering messages and still do not have my accounting to do my taxes for 2022 this really bothers me

Haven t had completed books in over 6 months
For the first 5 or 6 months my experience was great My bookkeeper finished my books on time and promptly had me categorize any unknown expenses I wasn t worrying about my bookkeeping any longer and that s what I was paying for Starting in July when the bookkeeper on my account was switched I never received any confirmation of my books being done and didn t have any complete books from there on out I d reached out to support and they were defensive and condescending not believing that they weren t actually being done Conveniently at this same time this bookkeeper left the company and my books were still left incomplete I m working with a new bookkeeper now and he seems to actually be working on my books but has informed me that 1 my paypal wasn t syncing up correctly since the books stopped being done now fixed 2 My shopify wasn t syncing up correctly He opened a high priority ticket with their IT team to fix this and it s been over a month with no update These two discoveries make it clear to me that literally no one was looking into or trying to do my books for 6 months It s more than disappointing This has been quite the opposite of not having to worry about my books which again is the entire reason I m paying for a bookkeeping service Constantly writing to support and my bookkeeper for updates I should be receiving without prompting is a red flag for me and takes up so much time I ve even been written to by team leads for my feedback and received nothing back when providing said feedback I unfortunately paid for a whole year upfront so I m just waiting for my books from 2022 to be actually completed so I can find a different provider as they truly don t seem to want my business Only giving 3 stars because of my experience the first half of 2022 The second half of the year would be 1 star As of right now I would not recommend this business to any small business owner especially if you are doing everything yourself they can t be trusted
