Cannot get through in the phone

Yesterday I could get through on the phone I had been waiting for 18 minutes But when I did get through the customer service representative was helpful and answered my query

I thought I was opening a SIPP for my child but somehow it opened and Junior ISA instead and now I have to complete a paper form in order to open a SIPP for the same child I only applied to BestInvest for the SIPP because I was under the impression it was all done online - Besides that the investment options are good and dealing is easy

Be careful buying shares stock using

Be careful buying shares stock using Bestinvest recommendations I have taken out 5 of their recommendations and my return is down 14 9 which is obviously significant I buy shares on another platform using my own judgement and they have performed much better than the above Basically I m paying a company to lose me a lot of money at the moment

Good start needs to improve

The managed portfolios are good and the management costs are competitive The onboarding process is cumbersome and has faults The web site needs to be rethought Best Invest ask for the client number but can you find it on the web site The mobile app is awful It is for a phone not a tablet and the small screen size means there is little room for features The coaching is really for someone who has no idea of how to invest Our coach was OK but we soon outstripped his knowledge

serious mistakes were made but corrected after complaining

They missed several trades I asked for despite constant reminders for more than a month Then returned the cash despite the trust s price being up by 5 I complained - they promised to come back Eventually they invented a clearly faked excuse The customer service apologized for the latter after I wrote to their head office and promised to contact me in a day or two Two weeks gone - Nothing My complaint was eventually seen by a senior executive who wrote and phoned me Seems a poor due-diligence or IT led to the mistakes I was compensated and the story is now closed but cannot put more that 3 because this should not have happened in the first place

Four contract notes from trades a week

Four contract notes from trades a week old were missing from my Documents file Joseph Smith customer Service found them for me somewhere within Bestinvest s IT systems and sent them to me very quickly He was very helpful However it is disconcerting to find that these documents are not consistently posted in the Documents file I also find that trades in unit trusts which I thought had been successfully completed have not been executed I wonder if I have been using the system wrongly though I have been a customer for 30 years or more

Had a free coaching session

Had a free coaching session The chat with coach was pleasant It seemed to me the suggestions made the coach made would benefit BestInvest i e assessing my attitude to risk and transferring external pensions into BestInvest without checking asking about any benefits I would lose by doing so wrt the web it still seems suffer from the lack robust user cases It looks better now but not sure things are sometimes harder to get to briefly touched on performance of the funds of funds approach and this is a industry wide issue the tend to compare with other fund of funds relatively so both could both a loss but one can we made less than you

Good and bad

I tried to open two accounts one for me and one for my wife Mine went through no problem Good However my wife s is not the same In addition to all the usual details including National Insurance Number we ve had to supply a bank statement and a copy of her passport and the account is still not open Bad My wife has lived in UK all her life and has top credit rating So don t understand the delay

A good start

This was a first call and it went well There was a technical glitch but we managed without the material which came on line a bit later Harry was a good intro to Best coaching and very flexible in his approach He s a good listener and patient too Plenty of scope for 5 stars later but it wasn t that sort of call

It was good to chat However a pity that not one person takes ownership of the client s requirements from start to finish
