Review of Bestinvest and Connor Watters

I have been in the process of transferring my holding to another investment platform II and the reason for doing this is purely and simply the high charges imposed by Bestinvest on an account which is almost inactive The process has been annoyingly slow but eventually it was completed EXCEPT for one holding and that has taken literally weeks and weeks to finalise During all this frustrating time I have received outstanding and constant support from Connor Watters He has been brilliant and such a comfort in what has been for me a very frustrating and worrying time Will you please make sure that my praise of Connor is directed to the appropriate team I would be sad if his support went unacknowledged I ll conclude by saying that Bestinvest did a first class job in looking after my investments and it was only the inordinately high charges which made me shift providers

Deposit not appearing in account

I created an account which included a technical issue that postponed my application by 24hrs After being able to create an account I deposited 1000 the website says that you should receive your money immediately although I received confirmation from WorldPay that the transaction had completed and my bank account is 1000 lighter sadly I m still waiting on this money reaching my new ISA I ve raised this issue with the help desk but this hasn t sorted the issue yet

Really disappointed with Best Invest

Really disappointed with Best Invest been a customer for years As a company director with multiple companies paying company contributions into a sipp used to be a simple bank transfer Now there are 32 fields on a form that has to be filled in every time you make a varied or one off contribution to the sipp Who really thought this up There is no consideration for the customer journey here at all A good provider looks to move barriers and simply the process Not go back in time requiring paper forms to be printed out filled out signed and returned Now had my contribution returned due to the fact I don t have an hour of my life to waste with this stupid Draconian policy Now actively looking for another provider for my sipps my wife s sipps all my isa s and recommending colleagues and friends find alternatives

poor communications and no cashback

signed up using topcashback which was simple enough for one of their GIAs was told I would get a 75 cashback for signing up with a minimum of 1000 so I did tracked ok then suddenly declined no reason given no feedback just nope have asked Topcashback to look at it but they are dealing with a lot of calls and its just been left its now been almost 20days and BestInvest looking pretty poor I reached out on their facebook page and all I got was have you tried emailing best bestinvest YEs I have still nothing no response or explanation on FB or via email so far pretty crap company

Bad Experience

I was badly treated They have moved my account from Best Invest to Evelyn Partners and now I can see my funds but I cannot change them cash them in or move them to another provider Currently they are acting like scammers with my money They told me to open a new BestInvest account to transfer the funds accross but when I tried this it rejected my attempt because my national insurance number is already registered with them probably from my original Best Invest account I have sent them a message using their portal but they have not replied They did react to this review which shows they do care it is a pity I had to give them a bad review to get any attention However my issues have now been solved satisfactorily

Tax statements

We stopped receiving the automatic tax statements a few years ago and have to chase each year In spite of my numerous phone calls over several years and numerous promises to resolve the matter we are no further forward We simply want an email saying the matter is resolved

4 months on response to my complaint

I raised an issue around 27 March this year but still waiting for a response despite phoning about 4 times Last week I was told that a Mr Harry Eadie would contact me by email the next day and then by phone but to date no such luck There has been no questioning about my complaint let alone an acknowledgment I pay about 120 per month for them to hold my ISAs

Poor experience with withdrawing money

Poor experience with withdrawing money from my account I keep trying to get some cash from my account - the transfer seems to go through but when I check the next day the cash is back in my account I have just spent 20 minutes waiting for someone to reply to my query on their chat facility but to no avail Update - waited at queue position 1 for 25 minutes and then found myself at queue position 2

Not the greatest experience so far Opened account and attempting to transfer some money from another provider Despite filling out a partial form as per instruction they attempted to transfer my whole isa I then got told to submit partial transfer form again a month later In contrast Freetrade transfered an isa into them within 3days Holding out as the cashback from Quidco and refer a friend is probably worth it

Be very aware They want your money

I was very happy speaking with COACH Alicja about my future goals over the next few yew years But she recommended that I speak to a financial planner Jonathan Abbott Over a period of almost three months he phoned me to discuss requirements saying he would give a free initial assessment of my portfolio also he requested info on all my assets He then involved another Financial advisor Chris Lles to help discuss the way forward Then I received an email requesting 2400 to enable them to discuss planning to Build a detailed lifetime financial plan So no free initial assessment just pay pay pay I am very disappointed at this situation I lost trust in that process So I Sent an email ending my relationship with Jonathan
