Two rooms booked in Adelphi hotel in Liverpool for one night 29-30 August Horrible experience Room 660 bathroom was dirty and smell bleach Cups not cleaned at all Tea kettle covered with paint drops Room 653 all tea cups was in bleach powder It were two kids and adult staying in this room I pour drink in one of the tea cups and drank it with bleach Thanks God it was me but not one of the children It was only one big sip but until now I feel bleach taste in my mouth I did call to 999 and they told me to drink a lot of water I guess call recorded anyway We went to complain to reception all of them accepted that it s horrible but we have been told to comeback in the morning One of the staff brought us clean cups in 20 min Needless to say that evening was ruined but as we had no choice we have left reception and stayed overnight When we came back next morning we have been offered free parking as compensation It was our second visit to Adelphi hotel but as I mentioned it was horrible experience thus time

Genuinely appalling
I was there in business in the Nottingham hotel Customer service from Amy was genuinely appalling Shouting and swearing from her was considered normal She seemed to think customers were an inconvenience and was unhelpful and obstructive at every opportunity The other staff were immensely helpful

Me and 3 other friends had booked your
Me and 3 other friends had booked your hotel for 1 night We had booked two rooms and the rooms were confirmed on the booking money was not taken as payment is done on arrival We arrived at 12 30 in the morning and as we pull up in the taxi there is police outside the hotel there is a woman running around with blood gushing out of her head and people are being arrested etc just outside the main entrance We aren t too impressed but we go inside and we speak to the receptionist The receptionist tells me to wait 15-20 minutes as he is just working on something else and he will get to us At this time there are 4 other people waiting in the lobby to get checked in 25 minutes go past and he still hasn t checked in any of the other guests or us and at this point its around 1 am and we are getting impatient as we have just travelled from far we have been standing for the whole time in the reception as the seats are stained and disgusting to look at I go up the receptionist and I ask him what the hold up is and if he can check us in He tells me once I ask him that the hotel is fully booked and there are no available rooms I tell him I have a confirmed booking and that it is not possible He tells me not to get angry but I am completely calm and speaking to him very politely It is not my job to get you a room yet I am still trying to get you a solution by calling other hotels I ask him who he is calling as I haven t seen him speak on the phone once since I have arrived He says he is looking for the number for holiday inn I give him the number and he says wow it s good that you are faster than me I ignore him and ask him to make the call he calls them and they say that they are full as this is a Saturday night around quarter past 1 I tell them this is unacceptable and that he must give me a solution At this point there is around 10 people trying to get checked in and nobody is being told anything and nobody is getting a room Amongst the guests are disabled people and senior citizens I ask the other guests if the receptionist has told them anything or given a status on the situation and they all say no I ask the receptionist to find a solution and he starts yelling at me then he says that s it I have had enough he throws his keys and picks his bag up and leaves the premises with all these guests inside At 2 30 am a housekeeper comes to the reception and asks what is going on so I explain the whole situation to him and he says but there are rooms available and he then checks us into our 2 rooms So for the past 2 5 hours we were standing there purely because the receptionist was an idiot who didn t know how to do his job and nobody else was there to solve it but a housekeeper IT DOESN T END HEREWe go to our rooms absolutely shattered As we enter we can see that the room has definitely not been vacuum there are 2 spiders on the wall the bunkbed looks like it housed an orgy and if you took an Infrared light to the bathroom I am certain that it was a petri dish The room was all in all unacceptable but at 3am the last thing we were going to was to go and spend even more time finding a better solution and to be honest there was no chance any other room was going to be any better We sleep terribly on spring mattresses Next morning I go to the reception and explain everything that we went through and the manager lady is so rude and very unapologetic she keeps saying I m not interested send an email I have never experienced anything like it in my life By far the worst hotel I have been to I have been to 43 countries and 4 times as many hotels Wow Speechless STAY AWAY

Terrible stay
Stayed at cavendish hotel at Eastbourne This hotel is part of the Britannia group Not a good experience On booking the hotel we had requested a disabled car parking space On arriving at reception we were told that they had reserved the disabled parking spot for us by putting a cone in front of the spot However someone had kicked the cone out of the way and parked in that spot Apparently there was nothing they could do to help Once we managed to park long way from Hotel and had checked in we found that the lifts were not working There was a service lift but as you would expect was tiny so there were long delays in getting to our room Later that evening we wanted a pot of tea in our room and asked at reception to have room service We were told the hotel doesn t do room service We were told instead to go to the bar When we asked the bar person for a pot of tea he said we could only have a cups of tea as they don t offer pots of tea When we asked why that was not possible the bar person just shrugged his shoulders Why does a hotel of this size not offer pots of tea to residents On our inbound travel to Eastbourne we stoppedoff at a small coffee shop on the way and had no issues getting a pot of tea Needless to say we took our custom elsewhere If you want shoddy service stay here

Dreadful Rooms
Brittania Coventry Hill Hotel Booked for two nights as we were on a course in Coventry On arrival the hotel and surroundings in dire need of some TLC Told we could park anywhere on the wasteland outside Security at a table near reception doesn t build you with confidence Lift to our floor the floor level button did not work so had to go one floor out and use stairs First room we were given smelt of cigarette smoke We asked if another room was available The next room just down the corridor didn t have the smoke smell but the mattress was shocking every time you moved a spring popped One leg was insecure on the dressing table No fitting plugs in the bathroom They should have been the pop up style but were replaced with rubber ones which didn t fit Soap dispenser in bathroom was broken Toilet door had a big hole hit into it on the room side Shower water was tepid Extractor fan did not work on entry into bathroom and also needed cleaning Cover over light fitting in bathroom looks like it hasn t been taken off and cleaned in years Definitely will not be using Brittania again and do not recommend using them after this experience If you can get a room at a Travelodge or Premier Inn at the same price I d recommend them over this hotel

Appalling
We travel via Caledonian coaches to Perth then have to change coach to continue our journey to the Coylumbridge hotel just up the road from Aviemore in Scotland We get to check in with one of the staff whom was standing with a bunch of tickets in hand and asking each customer what their names were So he flicks through the tkts and he gets to us and we give him the lead name and he says he has not got the swipe card key for our room and then what seems to be a favourite quote of all the staff at this dump Just wait over there for 2 secs He carry s on with the rest of the cue which is by now very long and out of the door more people join us in the Give me 2 secs cue So they decide that this fella can t do the job and we are asked to approach the check in desk the woman asks our name and finds it in the tkts the other guy couldn t find us in Half an hour had past by this time we walked to room 15 but on inserting the key card it wouldn t open the door we tried this umpteen times but had to walk all the way back to reception to ask why the card was not working the check in woman apparently reprogrammed the card but it still did not open the door went back to reception then duty manageress came down and still it would not open I was fuming by this time I had read a lot of really bad reviews the day before we went and thought to myself surely it can t be that bad HOW MISTAKEN WERE WE As this dump was kid dog friendly When the evening came around the bar was full dogs which were all barking at each other I actually saw a young woman with a family letting the family pooch drink some alcohol from her glass and licking ice from another glass There was a singer trying to sing above the cacophony of kids who were running around screaming and shouting and throwing things around what was supposed to be the relaxation area for the adults to listen to this man and his guitar trying to make himself heard The rooms had dust hanging from the ceiling I found a bug in my bed one afternoon when we got back from a trip Showed the manageress and all she did was change the sheets I had FUMIGATION IN MIND to be honest the whole hotel stank of wet dog they had pitifully tried to mask this smell by putting the odd plug in smelly thingamabob dotted around the corridors These did nothing to staunch the smell of wet pooches there must have been at least 50 dogs in that hotel when we were there All I can say is steer well clear of the COYLUMBRIDGE HOTEL if you go with Caledonian Travel to Scotland I could go on and on about this disgusting dirty excuse for a hotel but I do not have the time to The housekeeping is a joke I would give it zero stars if I possibly could
