Unhelpful and uses an awful repairs subcontractor

I needed to get my windscreen replaced as a chip was too big and the car couldn t pass its MOT I have comprehensive insurance so I am covered BUT the company they use Auto Windscreens said they couldn t fix it for 3 weeks and that s in the middle of West London not in the remote highlands When I called Coop and explained that this meant I didn t have a car for 3 weeks they basically said tough they don t have another supplier they wouldn t contact Auto Windscreens to ask them to help me and wouldn t let me use another company Couldn t get me off the phone fast enough In the end I had to pay for my own repair 365 to get through the MOT ok it s my bad for not realising that the chip would mean MOT failure and for leaving the MOT lastminute but the point is a they use a rubbish subcontractor and b genuinely didn t give a damn about the situation

Absolute shambles of a company Couldn t differentiate between your butt and an elbow Ridiculous wait times to speak to barely trained cretins Phoned today 18 minutes on hold to decline a renewal for car insurance They have quoted me 85 higher than available elsewhere I promptly get confirmation of my renewal and that they will be collecting the annual premium next week I CANCELLED FFS So I then had to spend another 20 minutes getting through to another clown to tell them again I am cancelling I am declining your thieving offer of insurance that only someone in serious need of a mental health professional would consider renewing with this shower at that price

Co-Op house insurance renewals scam For 2 years in a row now I have ended up not renewing due to a price hike scam This years example is a 2018 premium of 261 95 with a 2019 renewal quote of 326 84 for the same policy cover That is a 25 price hike even with my no claims going from 30 to 40 Now here s the issue I like Coop their ethical position have been a member for rmany years They should be treating loyal customers fairly When I went on-line and used the same supplier for an identical cover quote it was 207 00 I spoke to the customer adviser who was very helpful efficient like last year ended my current policy at its finish date started the new one as quoted online For the sake of a 10 minute call a bit of research on the internet I saved myself 120 I guess I should be happy but I am disappointed that an organisation like the Co-Op would do this if you are not savvy are old vulnerable or simply do not have access to the internet you would by paying 120 more for the same cover - this is unfair I had logged a complaint on the call not with anything to do with the customer service but simply this policy of hiking up renewals hoping people will not notice or have the time to check ps just in case you think this might be a obvious change in cover terms I got the Co-Op renewals person to check existing policy with new policy they confirmed the new one was slightly better cover confirmed it on the phone Come on Co-Op you are better than this

COOP insurance I beleive they are one of the better Car insurance companies as I had to claim for my Window Screen with the company changing it Autolgass not the best But the COOP Insurance team looking all the issues

Was with the Coop for many years for car insurance previously Didn t want to leave but the price was ramped up so high I had to This is the ONLY fault I can find with them They do put their prices up for returning customers which is a crying shame I left because I just couldn t justify paying over 3 times as much as several other quotes from other reputable companies Gone back this year to check and its back down to a reasonable level again Not the lowest but certainly highly competitive I hasten to add that the reason why I want to go back is that when I did have an accident many years ago they were absolutely superb The person I drove into yes I was a numpty and it was my fault made a point to come and thank me because they have never known such an easy and smooth service From my point of view it was easy too They were friendly professional and just got it sorted fast My no claims wasn t affected in any way either I had no issue with getting information regarding my no claims or details of the accident from them despite the fact I was leaving

Overall postive experience

I ve had to make a claim on my car insurance after being a victim of car theft Claim was settled once the Claims Investigator gave them the green light The settlement figure was also fair The staff members I spoke to were all decent and respectful One even allowed me to let my frustration of being a helpless victim of crime out He gave me a listening ear Shame I don t remember his name I dropped a star because I had to chase them up few days after the claims investigator had sent them a report They had not picked up this report until I called them up All in all the experience was far better than I had expected Claim was settled four weeks after it was made I would recommend co-op insurance

Since we have now reached 81 with over 40 years of clean driving and no claims you can imagine our views when we find you have decided you will not give us a quote for car insurance We have in response decided we do not need you either From the new year we will not shop or use anything trading under a co-op logo

Very happy

Very happy I had my bank account blocked due to some fraud and failed to make my monthly payments I phoned up and spoke to them and they were very understanding and cancelled the late payment fee they then tried to take the 20 fee from my account again but then cancelled the fee and refunded my fees from an un arranged over draft Very happy with them They will help if they know whats going on

Easy to talk to handeled claims well 10 years ago

They where very good with dealing with my crashed car and sorted out all the legal ins and outs too - even claimed expense for my dads physiotherapy Made the whole process much less stressful I now have home insurance with them and so far have had no problems The telephone staff are always happy and helpful with things and so far all processes have been smooth Noticed a lot of bad reviews on here are to do with claim handling Ive not put in a claim in 10 years with this lot so maybe times have changed Then again I ve looked at a lot of insurance company reviews on here and they ALL seem to fall down hard on claim handling
