Annoyed that I didn t research OT on Trustpilot although why would you - it s the restaurant you re more interested in right before placing and subsequently cancelling a booking through them via a text Just discovered two charges of 15p on my mobile bill for the privilege It really isn t the money if I couldn t afford 30p I probably shouldn t be going out for dinner Lol - it s the principle Restaurants are not well-served by paying to use this booking system as it will only drive custom to competitors who don t use them eventually Steer clear of OT as a booking tool - contact the restaurant directly using your inclusive minutes in your mobile phone package and speak to a human

Charged to my mobile
I was charged by my mobile phone service provider for confirming to OpenTable that I still wanted the table I had booked There is no warning in the text I received to say I could be charged and I then got a polite warning from my company about charging personal items to my company mobile Thanks a lot open table Won t be using you again if I can avoid it

Premium rate SMS costs to bookers customers
I booked directly with restaurant rather than via OpenTable I like many others received the Open Table SMS asking to confirm or cancel booking or to stop messages At least my message app alerted me to the potential charge so I didn t send the message It is an absolute liberty that Open Table try to fleece their customers customers simply to confirm or cancel bookings let alone stop the messages As an IT manager responsible for the booking app used at my work i know it doesn t do the same so if you are looking at an alternate with good customer service try ResDiary instead of Open Table

better off calling directly you get more information i recently made a reservation at zahav phila not realizing there s a 45 min per person if you want a complete meal if one choses a la carte items you will get almost nothing for the same money spent trickery

Charging for unsolicited texts
I didn t realise that this was open table as I rang to book direct Was happy paying the deposit although the restaurant didn t tell me one was payable However was not happy with later texts that would have cost me to reply to Unreasonable and unacceptable

Would give zero stars if I could
Would give zero stars if I could Horrified to see the premium charges on my phone bill for unsolicited texts sent by Open Table to my phone This is not legal I would encourage everyone to boycott restaurants using the Open Table system and to let the restaurant know you why you are doing so

Disgraceful practice charging fees to reply
As others have said I was horrified that I would incur at least 1 charge to reply to confirm a booking At least my phone warned me before I responded However it leaves you in a quandary as to whether the restaurant will still honour your booking if you don t reply I am currently trying to contact the restaurant by phone but strangely there s no reply

I m happily booking a table online for a local restaurant in Staffordshire when this OpenTable takes over Found I d been booked into a restaurant in West End Lane in London fortunately realised and cancelled immediately This has got to be a scam definitely not above board Avoid

Premium rate text scam
Booked a table at a restaurant and received a text from 67368 asking me to confirm the reservation- no mention of this being a premium rate text message Underhand and quite simply a con Best advice to diners ignore the message Best advice to restaurant owners if you care about your customers don t use OpenTable

I have been using this site for literally 15 years While it s convenient to book reservations in 15 years I have never gotten a reward Not 10 cents So while they re no doubt being paid by restaurants booked through their site I think I m done monetizing them if they can t in 15 years do anything for me ByeOpenTable
